The Microfiber Towel Deathmatch

Do you have close up picture of one of your suede-style ones? I should be able to immediately tell you do they seem similar.

Sorry, still have't gotten into the digital-imaging thing :o I *you* post a pic I can probably tell....

Isn't less bite sometimes good thing? CMA says microfiber polishing bonnets remove too much and suggest micro-suede with less bite instead.

If you mean the "plush MFs take off the wax/sealant that you want to stay *on* the paint" argument, IMO/IME that's just ad-copy hyperbole designed to get people to buy more/different MFs ;)

I've done side-by-side comparos where I buffed off wax/sealant residue with each type of MF (tried by hand/machine comparisons too)- result: no difference at all, not in looks, not in durability... nothing I could discern except that thick applications don't load up the plush towels as fast as they do the suede-style ones.

You are right, who am I to tell them what they need! Besides, so many things are subjective, just cause I don't like it don't mean person B won't either.

I was told good salesman advises but let's customer decide. When it comes to certain decisions it often boils down to personal taste, like this wax is tops vs. that wax is tops. Good store will offer both unless it is junk.

So, can you at least get some samples from them?

I have samples already, they are a twin to Danase's PHAT towel. I think I'll order some up today.

Try this link. Not sure if it's the same but it grey and works very well.

Although It's been since last summer since I had a need for more microfiber I feel like I've completely fallen out of the loop.

I never found any better quality towels anywhere than from Pakshak. And if I wanted bang for he buck the Elite towel from Microfibertech is I believe the best towel out there for the money.

Can any of you compare the products in this thread to the ones I've mentioned?

Also...not to sidetrack but does anyone know where you can find the big grey drying towell that microfibertech used to sell?

See now, this is part of what I am curious about. I havent used them yet, but having

seen and fely them, the Phat towel seems a bit too plush and soft to really do anyting

other than for QD and other stuff that requires a very soft and light touch. The Monster

is definitely soft and big, but it looks and feels to have a bit more bite. How much bite is

the question...

Now the PB Plush, well I cant say I've ever been disappointed with their ability. I can

use with QDs (albeit with a very light hand), remove sealants, waxes with the thicker

side, and do polishing with the less thick side. In fact, since I ordered a bunch of them

a while back, they have always been my go-to. But if I can do better, I will

simply downgrade the PBs to other "noble" duties:D

I've been pleased with my PB's mega plushes. Great towels. I'm planning on using the PHAT towels for qd'ing and ONR washing.

I've got some obsessivedetail.com brand mf towels. I should be getting them in next week. I'm looking forward to getting them. Now I just need a car to detail.

Well i just finished washing the Phats, the Monsters, and the CG whateverthehecktheseare towels :D . Here's a quick warnng. You might want to keep the Phat towels away from the white Monsters. Seem the Phats bled some color on the Monsters. Anotehr thing I just noticed is that the Phats began to fray at the seams already!:wall Now I can understand fraying after a few washes, but I am seeing strings coming out of the seams after only one wash:soscared: So be careful how you wash these particular towels. Might be better to handle these in the sink or a wash bucket and clean/ rinse them by hand to reduce the risk of fraying.

It may be just me, or my washing machine is a wee bit aggressive, but just a heads up for

some of out there that need to wash the Phats.

I recently got some of the new obsessive detail towels. They works really well. They are very similar to the Pakshak towels that I already had. You can't go wrong with either.

next time you may want to put it on the "delicate" speed, but run the wash cycle longer...

Yeah that sound like a good idea. I feel like such a dolt now for not thinking of it

before.:wall

Again Please don't read this post.

Please don't listen to me. The CG's elite plush and the Mother's are the best towels available for multi-purpose use. Removing wax, washing, QD, buffing etc. They will suck up the Pacific Ocean!!
