What are you so defensive about?

Your quite argumentative with me, and its painfully obvious to me & others.

you can disagree with anyone on DC, but you seem to come across with a tone of arrogance, or maybe that's ego...Either way I don't care...disagree all day

your colors are showing...and if you don't understand that term, Google is your freind.

To "show one's true colors" refers to an individual who has been masking or hiding their true nature, but finally acts or behaves in a way that is more in keeping with their natural character. In the movie, Sleeping Beauty, the evil queen shows her true colors, by letting out an evil laugh, after the princess bites into the poisoned apple.

I don't know why we're on a separate page... I know what it means, even before reading it on google, but I am asking you why you're saying that? My colors are showing compared to what? Did I agree with the last thread on a detailing competition, and now I'm not, so these are my true colors? Are you just mad I'm in disagreement with you? I'm helpful when I can help and will argue my opinion in an argument... where did I show different colors? I really don't know how to make my question any clearer...

Can I ask a personal favor.

Since I was crowned the "best detailer"

Can we stop the arguing, it's just crapping up my thread.

You're right, this really isn't worth my time as I have to go clean up my framed Autoweek article... this thread is

except for your award of course :bigups

Where did TH0001's post from yesterday go??

Did I miss something?

Good to see you here Rick!

I think admin decided to clean up the drama ... that's for a different site :notme:

No drama at all. Troy feels that due to Todd's association with CMA/PCA, it's not in the best interest of the site for him to be here.

Not so much that it's not in the site's best interest but more a matter of it not being appropriate for him to be here due to his association with them. I pm'd Todd explaining and Rick too. I have nothing against Todd or CMA/PAC that's just the way it is.

I would rather not make a big deal out of it and I would apreciate everyone's understanding.

As far as this pissing contest goes. I know the PDR techs have a contest like this every year at the Mobile Tech Expo but it's all in good fun and pretty civil. If we could model this event using their example then it could be a good thing meant for fun and a little prestige too.

I'm trying to not be so quick to shut down these kind of threads but let's keep it somewhat friendly please.

So at DF next year, can I borrow your rotary, some pb 3.0 and car ?

It's tough bringing stuff from CT to Fl.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I really enjoy watching those guys, and I can't even spell PDR.

Since everyone else is on this, I'll throw in my 2 bits.
Competition is good and is necessary, so this could prove to be a fun annual thing.

Set criteria for the best, do it like a cooking show, give then a set time 10 maybe 12 hours to transform a soccer mom mini van. We all know how trashed they can get and are pretty uniformed in being trash (and they won't be hard to find :D ) then have a panel of judges compare the befores to the afters.

Good publicity for the detailers, good publicity for the sponsors, a happy group of soccer moms and someone gets some bragging rights.
A purse wouldn't hurt either :D

It could be moved from a local to a regional to a national level.
So it does have some merit.

P.S.
Ron you can keep your trophy

First of all, I've only had my trophy a few hours and by having a new competition you are trying to take it from me so quickly. even the wsop winners have a year to brag they are the best. At this point I will have to change my signature to
"6/2009 to 7/2009"

The cooking challenge uses the exact same stuff for every body. Quality/quantity, etc. There is no way that the vehicles would be the same as far a crapping up and flaws etc.. So this part of the competition would be unfair to say the least.

THerefore I keep my trophy till someone can come up with a more fair format.

Yeah, I know I'm a troublemaker and a Meanie !!

We'll make it fair everyone will have to wear a tutu

For most of us it would need to be a four four. :rofl

Not sure if it's been mentioned since this thing jumped to 93 or so posts since I last looked, but I wouldn't mind witnessing something like this just to see the different methods you could employ to get the same result.

THANKS

I suggested Police cars only because in most major metro areas their fleets are usually run through a harsh tunnel/brush wash and could always use a good detailing, also shows the skills of the detailer on not only black, but also white as well as decals and areas that are hard to get to with a machine polisher. Also allows for cloth seats, motors, wheels, tires, lots of interior cracks and crevices for the french fries, coffee and doghnut sprinkles to hide in.

Might also be nice to have a few extra badges around for, as we are starting to see, this could get ugly :lmfao
