I didn't care for the GC's relative lack of lubricity and that was what mystickid asked about. I've sometimes wondered if it just wasn't compatible with my water (conditioned with potassium chloride); I recognize that other people like it, including the folks I gave it to. I didn't find it all that different from other OTC washes. Just not in the same class as Griot's, Pinnacle, or P21S.



Heh heh, these days anything I wash is a vehicle I *really* care about- I'm a bit of a fanatic about wash-induced marring (to put it mildly) and I pretty much treat our minivan the same as my best car.



Actually, even before I developed my foamgun-centric approach, I *did* find that using a high lubricity shampoo helped out with the marring. I used TW Zip and Westley's for quite a while on family cars, and when I switched it made a noticeable difference.



And yeah, I possibly let them get dirtier than you do. I once washed a Porsche (daily commute car) *every* day I used it :rolleyes: but now I only wash them when I think they truly need it. Well, except for the Jag and the S8 ;)
 
Wash with dawn twice a year. Spring and fall. Then of course the usual pre clean (clay), spot polish if needed and reapply Z2.

Z7 all other times.
 
Accumulator, just how much of an issue is wash induced marring?

I ask this because either I have been very lucky or I am unable to see the damage, and I still have a good eye-I think. I am relatively crude with the wash technique, a simple cotton cloth which I do rinse very well after use and the cars really are not that dirty, with regard to abrasives.

I have always used Griots wash though and a reasonable amount of water.

Both our cars are light colors, reflex silver VW and a canvas beige Audi, of course its the Klasse twins about four times a year.

Just curious.
