The Absorber is better than a Waffle Weave

My WCD WW's seem to be soaking up quicker and quicker, but my Water Magnet (Meg's) suprisingly does a good job, it's a bit rougher than I'd like, but it sure sucks :)

Oh yeah I also have a Big Blue II which has been pretty good, nothing astounding...

I still plan on getting a CRSpotless system sometime down the road so I don't have to worry about marring while drying since I don't blot (too damn lazy) and I can do a quick powerwash with it everyday to clear all the dust off :)

What you might want to try is after washing your car is to remove the nozzle and flood the surface with water out of the end of the hose. Most of the water will then sheet off, making drying a lot faster. Fold the waffle weave over 3 times so you can keep refolding it to dry section.

:werd: :)

HAHAHAHHAAHHA, nice one scottwax.

I used to have an absorber, but it would always leave way too much water behind. Sure it took off most of the water but there was still always enough left to leave spots.

Before I got into detailing my own car, I heard the waffle weave is the way to go. However I bought both and it doesn't dry a car like the Absorber does. The Absorber dries the car to a squeak while my Meguiars Waffle Weave just leaves wet streaks on the car.

Anyone else have the same experience? Or maybe my waffle weave just sucks.

If you prefer to shop OTC for WW towels, you might want to hold out a little longer for the new Mother's WW foam core - I know I can't wait to take these new ones as it's very difficult to find quality WW towels over-the-counter.

I used to be a diehard Absorber user. After finding waffle weaves, my Absorbers are designated for boat and jet ski duty :)

I use a California Water blade to get a majority of the water off the car and follow it up with a WW mf.

Best combo for me yet!

I used a Real Chamoi (spelling?), then

Micro Fibres, then

The Absorber, then

Waffle Weave.

In that order is what worked for the least to the best. Regular micro fibers just don't cut it for soaking it up. Real chammoi's don't do jack for me. The Absorber does as it says and out performed the mf'rs and real chammoi but the waffle weaves worked the best...for me.

I have used the Absorber, and did like it, until the last one I purchased kinda felt "hard" compared to earlier Absorbers. It just felt like it did not have the gentleness when wet as my previous one did. I then bought a Aqua-Dry drying towel and will use nothing else. I did try a WW but did not like the water it left behind, even though it was a closeout purchase for 4 bucks at Big Lots...

I haven't tried The Absorber so I can't (and won't ) knock it.

I'm a dedicated WW user after using leather chamois' and various synthetic chamois'. I assume The Absorber is a synthetic chamois product.

All I can add to the above is that any drying product that creates any drag will remove wax protection. A WW has nearly zero drag. That seals it for me.

Also, the performance of different WW brands can vary. I use PakShak's WW and found them better than the others I've tried.
