Tell a nice story about PAC

How bad does it get ?

I'm getting a little frustrated trying to detail my two daily drivers,
because some or all the following reasons:
1. I wash them and I'm sure caused lots of the scratches I'm just recently noticing
2. Washing needs to be done frequently, tree sap and dust are a real problem, cars stay outside all the time
3. I'm too impatient - until now - to work with the SMR. I'm ending up with haze or more swirls
4. polishing with SMR and a foam pad - by hand - seems near impossible for getting a good finish,
so far small sections on the trunk of one car and the hood of the other show my inexperience.
5. I have very little durability of the BF protectant in my Leon, and I think it is because I did not
Dawn washed the car before to remove some carnauba wax I had applied before.
6. being the car only 2 months old I did not get the BF polish and now I really think I need it

Some good things I have done:
1. I wash with 2 buckets and using only MF towels to touch the car
2. The hood in the Altima now has no water marks
3. The Altima is baby smooth - clayed and polished 100% - just the trunk needs to have the scratches - swirls? - removed.
4. Vertical panels in both cars look and feel awesome ...
5. plastics are silicon free and look really good.
6. both cars look really good if and more than 3 feet away, so I guess I'm getting obsessed

I'm scared to use any abrasives in the new car, it is dark blue and shows any little error I make.

So after this long rant ... the plan is:
For the Altima is to borrow an orbital polisher (brother in law's), practice in my mothers beaten up car,
make it look better in the process, and then polish the Altima's trunk, which I think is the only panel
needing more attention right now, being a clear metallic blue really helps.
Maintain the BF protectant as needed.

For the Leon, Dawn wash, polish with BF and the orbital polisher, small section in the roof,
if I get go results then I'll do the hood.
Then BF protectant as needed.

I read on http://www.carcareonline.com/ that Blitz wax is the best for daily drivers due to the easy of use,
so once I run out of BF I might do Klasse AIO topped with Blitz wax.

Just a few quick thoughts…

I asked CMA and they said it’s fine to use Blackfire all finish paint protectant without having used Blackfire polish first. Meguiar’s #9 2.0 and the Blackfire polish seems about the same to me as far as appearance goes. I haven’t used 3M SMR yet but I think it’s in the same ballpark as far abrasiveness goes. That being said I know some can do excellent work by hand with products like these but I got much better results when I got my DA polisher (porter cable).

I’ve picked up in a few threads about Blackfire’s suspect durability. I’ve only had mine on less than a week so can’t comment on it. I plan on getting 4 coats on and see how it’s holds up compared to the Klasse I had on it before.

I wish they sold the Seat Leon Sport in America, it looks like a very cool car!

ok where do i begin.

detailing a car is not as easy as everyone thinks. if it was easy then i would not be in business because every one would do it themselves.

This is the best advice i can give you right now as i am in a little bit of a rush.

hand wash the car and dry it. depending on what type of scratches you have you can use meguiar's scratch x. I really like this product. it goes on easy and comes off easy with great results. If you have a PC you can use Meguiar's DA cleaner/polish. it will remove swirls and not harm the paint. once this is completed you can polish the car. you don't need the $70.00 bottle of polish, if you think price makes something better you are wrong. for those who use the $70.00 bottle of polish i have the brooklyn bridge for sale(lol). Once you poish the car, you can then apply wax.

following these steps should get you on your way. it might take some time to get, but with practice it will come very easy to you.

This thread may seem ironic started by me since I have joined the frustrating thread called Patience. Well if you feel so inclined, tell a nice story about PAC. I will get the ball rolling.

A few years ago I posted a question about Batch 23 wondering what it was like and the difference with Batch 24. Wanting to help me answer my questions, Jack sent me a PM asking for my address. He then (completely free of charge) sent me an unopened fresh tub of 23 he had sitting around. That was a solid act of kindness. Thank you Jack.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jack and Todd (again) at SEMA last year....actually I hung around the PAC booth a lot that week and both Jack and Todd and stand up guys. :)

Thanks again for making the event so much fun!

Jack was taking the pic. :)

I'd also like to thank Angelo for great help on the phone when placing orders and for the FREE Autoglym stuff I won during a chat night, not to mention all the other free samples and T-shirts that were given to me along with my orders.

As far as a happy story I have to say it was how much fun some of us had spamming the Big Kahuna contest with all manner of funny threads. I haven't spent a ton of time on this forum so thats the best I can do.

I've never had the pleasure of meeting Jack or Angelo but everything I have heard about them has been that they are stand up characters. When I posted to TID Jack was very kind to me and welcomed me to the site in a post he made. My friends Adam, Dana, and others speak very highly of Angelo and he is obviously a class act. I met Todd at the celebration car show earlier this year and it was a pleasure. I wish all 3 of them and any others that work here all the happiness in the world.

Angelo is my most favorite person I've ever met in the online detailing community. He is the only person I've ever given my phone number to

If you have a problem with Angelo, you have a problem with life

That's easy Angelo /Todd met both of them a few years a go and stay in touch with both and try and see them as often as possible . Todd live by my son so when ever I go up to see my son I always like to get together with Todd . What's great we hardly talk about detailing and the forums .

I dont really have any stories to tell other than Id been received emails from PAC (promotional)for 7 years because I bought a gallon of lexol 7 years ago from them. I just happened to see the link to the TID forum and clicked.

From the moment I came here I knew it was going to be my home . I cant explain it !It was like destiny !

Thanks so much PAC for all youve done ! I will miss you!!!:(

I had a small problem with a product that I sent a PM/E mail to Angelo end of May. He contacted me today and offered to replace the damaged product. I really think that they are all doing whatever they can to make things right.

Thanks Angelo!

This one is easy. It is a twp parter for me though. First is Angelo. Angelo has always taken the time to spend with me on the phone, and give me a lot of advise. I must admit that I am a small time customer of PAC, as my funds were always limited. That never mattered much to Angelo, as he always gave me the same attention as he would who was spending a whole lot more then I was. He also referred a few detailing jobs to me. Even though we never met in person, I consider him to be a very good friend.

Part two is when Jack found out that I had lost my job 2 years ago, he sent me a private e-mail offering to help. If I wanted any detailing products, he would discount them at a rate that was very attractive. I did take him up on his offer once, and I will never forget it. I also spent a lot of time one afternoon on the phone with him. He is a real stand up guy.

I will miss PAC!

Barry - I remember when you lost your job.. that was a bummer. Glad things have turned around for you and hope things will for Angelo and the other PAC employees like Angelo and Mike.

i enter raffles all the time but have never won a thing, not until i entered a raffle here at tid.... i still wear my got shine t-shirt proudly.

Not much that I can say that has not been said already. I have had the pleasure of spending many hours hanging out at PAC and shooting the breeze with the guys.
I want say thanks for the some of jobs that the guys at PAC referred to me over the years. That meant alot that you trusted your customers to me.

Everything stated about Angelo is true and then some. He is a good friend and will bend over backwards to lend a hand any one. The world needs more guys like Angelo. I also want to thank Jack. I won the big contest this year and I want to thank him for making that happen plus I want to thank him for the oppertunity for lettting me test a beta sealant he was working on. I am sad that will never make it to market. Also, thanks Jack for your time just talking with me when I was at the store.

I also want to thank Michael, Phil, and everyone one else at PAC for the great job they did. My prayers are with you and your families as you make this transition. If there is anything I can do for any of you please let me know.

Thank you
Chad

Jack once sent me free of charge a got shine tee shirt after I told him how much I really enjoyed doing business with PAC and how much I like this community. I thought that was a very kind gesture, especially since I wasn't a high volume customer.

Like others have said, Angelo is a great guy. Though we've never met in person, I feel like I've known him forever. He's always eager to help and has a wealth of knowledge to share.

Mike is also someone that I've not had the pleasure of meeting in person, but have a great deal of respect for. He's also helped to answer my questions and though I never told him, I think he did an outstanding job of moderating this forum.

Todd has helped me via PM once or twice and has also been a major source of information for me through his write-ups.

I'm going to miss PAC. The staff is what made them my primary source for detailing supplies. Thanks for all of your hard work. I'm sorry if I missed anyone, thanks to anyone else who was behind the scenes working hard.

Thanks for starting this thread, its nice to hear some feel good stories about PAC!

Jack was kind enough to introduce himself to me after I won some products and wanted to say hi . He said he liked to know his customers and thats why he was saying hello.

I thought that was a really nice gesture !
