Taking delivery of '08 BMW 135i. initial detail question

Im not sure how often you plan on waxing, but I would suggest something a tad more durable than souveran in the case you forget or are unable to wax your car.

What did the dealer do to prep the interior besides unwrap the seats and take the tags off? I'm not familiar with interior vehicle prep

They didn't do anything to the interior either, I pulled off the plastic from the seats and floor matts.

BMW Jet Black, have fun with that. Possibly the most miserable to maintain paint there is. Don't use much pressure when washing, and blot dry, even then expect to get some marring.

BTW, congrats on the new ride. I got to sit in one at my local dealer when they had an unveiling party for the 1 series, X6, and M3. The 135i surprised me, for such a tiny car it was comfortable for me (6'2") and the looks are growing on me. These days I am not a fan in the direction BMW is going, but the 1 Series has a nice Euro look/feel to it, I like it a lot.

I'll be waxing as often as I need to.. Perhaps once a month if it isn't too excessive

That is a *very* nice product line up. That's about the ultimate collection of products for jet black BMW paint. Your choices of pads, polish, glaze and LSP are just perfect for your car.

The only possible change I'd make is to swap the Souveran for Collinite... or possibly P21S 100%. And the only reason for that is that Souveran just doesn't last very long, which means more frequent applications, which means more potential of marring that soft clear. Still, though, it's very difficult to beat the look of Souveran on black, and it sheds dirt very easily when you wash it. You might also think about getting some FK1 425 anti-static QD to keep the Souveran from attracting dust.

Can't wait to see some pics of your new ride.

Edit: LoL, you can tell the guy has some serious photography skills when his product line-up picture looks good enough to be in an ad.

Haha, you should have seen it earlier.. I was having too much fun with it. Actually, I was looking at getting the p21s 100% but I got a deal on the Souveran so I decided to go with it. Otherwise, I would gladly pay less for the p21s. I'll look into the anti-static QD, sounds like a good investment (lol, investment).

How many different places did that come from? That looks like 2 or 3 separate orders.

Actually, it was all ordered from 1 place. I looked through a ton of different online retailers and finally found one that had pretty much all the products I needed.

Care to share whom that is?

You got PM

No PM yet, assuming you are writing it.

I think I found out who it was. I did some searching. I know a lot of folks don't carry CG and PB products because of confliction of product there... but I found one shop that does. Good ole Ranney.

Looks like Detailed Image to me. They carry all those products, and I assume that's what "DI accessory" means. They're where I get almost all my supplies. I don't hear a lot about them on Autopia, but they're by far the best place I've dealt with.

Awesome order! It's also nice you were able to score all those goodies from one vendor, hehe.

I just noticed that their 6.5" LC foam pads are on sale for $7.99 each right now. Too bad I'm an Edge system user now. :dance

If you got in on that autogeek deal for 2 edge pads for 19.99 you've essentially paid 5 bucks a pad since they are double sided.

I wish I would have seen the deal a week ago and then waited for the green to come back in stock (which it now is).

Ohwell!

Yeah I noticed that but unfortunately I made my order through AG's sister company, Pinnaclewax.com. :hairpull

If the occasion ever comes where I'll need more Edge pads, I'll make sure to grab them from AG (bearing I somehow get annoyed by constantly using my UPW which I doubt).
