Well the longer this goes on the smaller I feel.

My initial excitement for what I originally posted is gone.

This is the first forum/ chat room that I have posted in ever.

I love to talk about what I do and get real excited sometimes.

My mind is moving faster than my finger can.

I hoped someone would learn something useful from my post.

I guess that person I me.

Hi all,

I mentioned that (being new) I don't know mirrorfinishman. I didn't checked the former posts or status of him, so I don't know the whole context Dwayne referred to.

Personally I've found it funny to read the corrective letter of mfm; I could visualize the typical Get it?-face. LOL

Still, I have a strange feeling about this. I don't like the report link either. I accepted him as is, like I accept Bigron with his Nu Finish. Jacques Villeneuve has a similar personality (trust me, I know him personally) to mfm; he is destructive but if you can learn how to deal with it, he can motivate very much. He just lets you figure out how to be (or become) constructive. We all can learn a lot from a destructive but objective critics too. If mfm is a good detailer, who cares about his grumbling? I couldn't take it seriously. I don't think it's a capital crime, I rather see him as one of the old men from Muppet Show.

Being tolerant to misspellings is a good point Anthony mentioned; I'm practicing it pretty much here, but having a letter like that is sometimes really amusing. If it is his way of graphomaniac satisfaction, I'd let him onanize with the words. Funny reading.

I'm fairly new myself, so I don't know the story behind mfm. I'm all for tolerance but there's always a limit for things. There's just no reason for being nasty to people, even people that we don't know on this board, I think it's quite sad he spent a whole post just to correct someone's mistake but of course that's just my opinion.

I for one am not fond of silly childish dramas on the board, what I'm referring to is for example someone mentioned zaino and the zaino fans will come one and shoot anyone not having a constructive opinion regarding Z, I'm just glad DC is not a place like that, really am. At the end of the day, we are here to share our detailing experiences or listen about others and not show off our spelling proficiency (as long as the message gets across). I didn't know we had a grammar police here before I read this post
lmfao :lmfao . Probably Dwayne could offer the post of Grammar Police to some members:LOLOL

ps: This post is not proof read, I don't care if you give me a grade F

If you are talented enough to work with Anthony Orosco, I think that alone says a lot about your knowledge and ability.
Stick with us, we're not really too bad of a group.

Ron, I can understand you. I think it was not a personal attack against you; it just happened and it was just you.

I'm sure mfm was not a rude buddy, but I still don't know him.

I didn't intended my post as an open letter from the Grammar Police! It's my experience and I was expecting that someone tells me what did mfm wrong in the past, so we can have a more holistic picture. For me it was just as childish as The Chee thought it when he read my post. I don't mind neither mfm's verbal-keyboardistic battles, nor the "I tell you to my Mom!" aspects.

The Chee is right! Let the chi flow again in the right direction!

Don't let the small mishaps unnerve you!!! I think it's still one of the best forums around; it was just a little energy flow blockage. We must maintain our integrity!!!

Charles has right too! It is a honor for us to have a member who works with Anthony! Besides, I was :rofl -ing when I saw the ashol-thing!!!

Ron, you are a great addition to DC. Stick with us and post pics of your work. I have an MBA and I constantly misspell words because, like you, my mind works faster than my fingers.

Well Anthony, I made up my mind. If I get a jon in San Antonio post-college, your on my call list. I can only imagine how good my car will look after being in your hands.

I come to Detail City to learn and share my knowledge of the detailing world, not to go back to school for grammer class.

Getting back to the original topic, nice work guys.

Ron,
Do you have any pictures of your work on the ML or other vehicles?

Check Meguiarsonline for pictures of Frank's work.

Eric

So many good points to this discussion...Frank..R.I.P. had some good intentions, but a really BAD approach, besides making his own spelling and grammar mistakes:nono ...Ron, I am also a very bad typist and make spelling mistakes all the time...I often reread my posts and use the edit button on the bottom as MANY of us do:) ...Bence to a degree, you are correct and even Bill Cosby caused some huge controversy lately by telling a group that the misuse of our language is a real shame, and promoting the continued use of poor language skills will not help a person better themselves or their children. Andriver, I also have a Master's Degree, in Education, but that does not make me a better speller than the next person, and I will not use a post to degrade someone with lesser skills than I.
Ron as stated above, if you are working with Anthony, your skills must be above average:bigups and the pictures show it:)
This a great site, made up of a diverse group of great people from many states and countrys. We all have one thing in common, the desire to know more about detailing. The extra perks on this site are the friendships that develop without any prejudice of any kind, which was quite evident at our detailing day:D

To Charles, and others who have posted a similar message, I am very humbled by these words. I wish I could better express my appreciation of them, I truly do (I can send you all money?), but I do thank you all:)

How inkredibly stpuid this wole thing is.

If I were a moderator, I would tolerate all people regardless of and in spite of their characters because that's what we all must do in real life communities. It adds variety, interest, and entertainment to a community like DC. Take this thread for instance, controversy is interesting and that is why there are so many posts.

If I were a moderator I would use a mark system for members to describe their tendencies. Kinda like a scarlet letter. I think it would be fun. In this case I would have marked Mirrorfinishman with a J as his avatar. The community would then know he is a jackass.

Here are some more mark ideas. This would be a riot.
KIA - know it all
WT - White trash
P - Poser
S - spammer
J - Jackass
etc.....

Anthony "O":
I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it.

Denverdetail:
I kind of like your idea.

Charles
KIA. WT, P, J, etc. (Spammer I'm not)

MFM tried attacking me for some reason over at Autopia. He never told me his beef, but would constantly report me to the mods. They told me I had nothing to worry about and that Frank wouldn't be around much longer.

I found his post here to be rude. He always had a condescending attitude towards other members. I thought he was a bit different here and actually agreed with him on a few posts. His last post wasn’t banning material by itself, but since he was already on “probation”, then banning was the next logical move. I support Dwayne in his decision. Then again, I may just be sucking up for more clearance deals. :D

Ok, back on topic. Nice job on the ML. I just wish I have the time to experiment with my rotary more. I just don’t know where all my time has gone. Maybe I can convince Eric to grab a Cyclo so I can come over to try it out. :D

language has one purpose, communication. I had no problem understanding what Ron said. Sure you can claim that our language is being misused, but it seems like an oxymoron to me. If a certain style or word or spelling become common place, then does it not then inherently become correct?

Maybe I'm off on that one...but I don't see how language can be defiled or misused, I only see how it can evolve.

But then I'm pretty dumb. :D So......
