System One? Jay Leno

Seem that you are the expert here, he states that using this polish and pad you can not burn the paint. The only way to damage is to polish though the paint. Is that what you are seeing also? Hard for me to believe that 1500 to 1800 with a wool or foam wouldn't produce enough heat to burn the paint.

Sure you could produce enough heat to burn the paint at 1500 rpm if you let the rotary sit in one spot for an extended period of time. I've buffed with a LC german green pad with OC at speeds of about 2400 rpm-maybe even higher. I've also used the Edge wool pads at over 2000rpm. As long as you keep the rotary moving and away from edges you shouldn't burn the paint. Granted there are variables such as the amount of lubrication film between the pad and paint depending on the product being used so I won't make a blanket statement that you can't burn the paint but rather that with the right product and technique you shouldn't burn the paint.

Would anyone care to explain how the system one product works without fillers?

TIA

Well to sum it up, it IS fillers.

The wool is abrasive, yes, so he is removing scratches with that, however, the product itself is mainly filler.

I just watched that as well...crappy wetsanding technique though...i think i might order some

You can do that with OP and e2k wool and OP with e2k white foam. That guy is a hack and a disgrace to detailers IMO.

I bought the System 1 product. I did not buy the $89 kit. I got the wax, the swirl and scratch remover. I have not used the scratch remover yet. The wax seems to be a decent product. Whenever I use the other product I'll let you know what I think of it.

These companies know detailers are Suckers for a new gimmic. I have alot of detailing stuff that I bought because of the Hype. Some good some not so good. Ah, but the Flex,

one of the best pieces of equipment I own!

Have you guys seen the rest of their videos? (i.e. the ones they produced)

BTW, I've tried this product and must say I think it is a winner.

One noteworthy point that hasn't been mentioned is the fact that this polish is not a diminishing abrassive type product. Rather it is a nano polish much like Menzernas latest products. It is also claimed to work on newer cerami-clear finishes.

To me, at the very least, I am seeing this as a cheaper, US made alternative to the expensive and sometimes finikey SIP and 106ff products. In the videos they show it being used in direct sun on hot surfaces. I actually spoke to one of their guys on the phone about this and he said it was designed for this versitilty.

Bottom line... like was already mentioned... try products before offering an opinion.

What are some of you blokes like.

Insulting a fellow detailers skills and his product all becuase you don't like the look of the video, which I might add has probably been produced in a style to suit people who don't know that much about detailing.

Common, try the product and if you don't like, fair enough, but to say some of things that has been said without trying it is just plain ridiculous. Open your minds.

I have tried it, I'm still experimenting with it but my first impressions were very positive. The spray wax is also quite good. Used it while drying the car at the weekend and it left a nice slick, wet finish. You can also cut it with water to turn it into a quick detailer.

I have personally spoken to that guy in the video via messages on youtube, he is a hack.

I would love to see someone try the same thing with an edge2000 pad that has wool on one side, foam on the other and OP as the polish. Oh wait, it is an edge2000 pad that he slaps his name on... Silly me...

I think it's been shown at The Mobile Tech Expo in Clearwater, Florida this week. I'm hope i get to see this done there if i get to go.

OP...I am not sure about that. I have all the optimum products with the exception of the protectant. OP need to be worked in more than that to remove sanding marks. Especially ones inflicted like that. He needs to learn how to wetsand!!.

Maybe I'm missing something, but how is this System One any different than other polishes? I mean, he was still using two steps. Wool with the polish, and then the foam side with polish to remove the haze from the wool. It might save you from having a compound and a polish, but I can do the same thing with something like Menzerna SIP. Use it with orange to remove heavy swirls, and then slap on a white pad and use the same polish to get a nice finish.

Actually he doesn't "slap" his name on the pads. They clearly say Edge pads on them and they make no attempt to hide that. He just sells them in his "Pro Kit" which includes the pad, adapter, bottle of polish and a training DVD. Perhaps you should check these things before attacking him.

Angelo, Hope its sunny out so you can tell for real whats up. Ask him if he would subject the polished area to a IPA wipedown.....

I will ask them that same question! It seems to me that it's to good to be real. But i hope they will be doing some polishing on friday AM. I have to see this in person, and i might bring a small bottle of 50/50 with me to see myself  before i get thrown out of there.........:chuckle:

If they say no to the 50/50 wipedown, we will know why... :nixweiss
