Swissvax Cleaner Fluid

I am glad that you ask: Very easy to use. If you asked me the prices should be switched between the wax and the fluid. The finish it produced on the one car I used it on was unreal. The wax didn't seem to make much difference after it.

But that is only my opinion.

If i've clayed and paint corrected a few weeks ago and paint looks good, is there a need to repolish before applying the cleaner fluid?

Strictly speaking you are only cleaning the paint, prepping it for wax by using cleaner fluid as it does not contain abrasives.

By using either 'medium' or 'strong' cleaner fluid first, you will be able to polish paint(by hand or machine) to remove any necessary defects.

He has done that a few weeks ago.

I gotta get me some of this. Hopefully it'll be the cure for the disease that is HD-Cleanse.

I just got some Swissvax Cleaner Fluid today. I was very excited to try it out so I used it on a small spot of on my hood. This stuff smells AWFUL kind of like glue (and looks like Elmer's Glue too). My intial impression is that it was pretty easy to work with though especially when compared with HD-Cleanse. It wiped off fairly easily in comparison and did a nice job cleaning the paint. It was squeeky clean! However, it left the paint with a very different feel than HD-Cleanse. HD leaves a very smooth almost soft feeling finish IME. Swissvax CF left the finish pretty smooth but almost "rubbery" feeling. This is the best way I can describe it.

Also, the bottle I got for $40 was about half the size of the HD-Cleanse bottle which costs the same.

Mikeyc,

How would you compare it to P21S PCL or Pinnacle PCL? That is if you've tried those yet? Anyone?

I used Pinnacle PCL once several years ago, but I don't recall how it performed and I've never used P21S PCL. Sorry.

i'm a little bit off-topic but is it really necesary to use cleaner fluid before the wax? if i want to top concorso over a sealant if i use the cleaner fluid i will remove a part of the sealant??

(sorry for my bad english)

Hey Fly, not sure I'd want to see that $40 hooker (the price of CF) :chuckle:

I've never used CF, Swissvax, or any of the high (or low) end Zymols..... Souveran is as exotic as I've went to date. I have been considering the Concorso since DD is having a sale, and I guess I'd pop for the CF at the same time.

The Cleaner Fluid should remove the sealant. So, if you're doing wax over sealant then don't use Cleaner Fluid.

Personally, I wouldn't put Concourso over a sealant. Having the sealant underneath the Concourso will hamper (IMO severely) the depth of shine. With a high end wax like Zymol or Swissvax one of the biggest differences is the depth of shine. So, IMO you're wasting your money on a high end wax if you're putting it over a sealant. Also, IME high end waxes don't play nice with sealants. During application when you buff off the excess wax it seems IME that all of it buffs off.

so have you put the concourso on yet?

Yes, I put some on my hood/front fenders last night. With winter coming quickly I'll likely be switching to Collonite 845 any day. So, I didn't want to do the whole car.

Concourso is DEFINITELY a step above Saphir. There's no question about that. The jetting was OFF THE CHARTS. It absolutely left one of the wettest finishes I've ever seen. It also had the great depth/reflectivity that I expect from Swissvax or Zymol. Plus, it rained all day today and the beading is those great tight beads you get with Swissvax or Zymol as you might expect. I loved watching the water just scoot right off my hood as I drove.

I have to say though, this wax DEFINITELY has a cure time. When I first put it on the surface felt kind of rough and the wetness and depth were not that great. An hour or so later, the surface was as slick as snot and wetness and depth noticeably increased. I'm not really used to that as most waxes IME are 99% cured by the time you buff them off.
