Hi guys

Just got done applying the Swissol Concorso wax on my 350Z and dad's 430. I'll be doing dad's other cars over the next few weeks with the wax too - a solid yellow and metallic black. The wax retails here for AUD $300 and came in its own pouch and with a hand signed certificate from the guy who made it :cooleek:

Some history - im a detailing fan and have used alot of waxes in the past, P21S, Zaino, OCW, Polylack, etc and find the Concorso to give the best wet look and clarity - im a carnauba man and only use sealants as base coats during winter

What suprised me was the clarity of this carnauba - 48% carnauba per volume. Ive only ever seen this clarity with sealants, never a carnauba. The P21S i was using on the 350Z prior really amplified the orange peel and often i would get hazing on my top panels

My mate who is a pro detailer prep'd the car with Menzerna FF and the Swissol Medium Cleaner Fluid (which has slight abbrassives). I then applied the Swissol Light Cleaner Fluid by hand and then the Concorso wax - just as easy as wipe on, let cure for 10mins, wipe off with no residue. Swissol say to use your hands, but i dont love detailing that much. I used a foam applicator and didnt have any issue with application

Im going to try layering the wax next wash and see how that goes. Swissol recommend to use the cleaner fluid every 2 coats of wax

Onto the pics. I used Mothers Billet Metal Polish + Xenit on exhaust. Wheels done with Polylack Nano Clean + Polylack Nano Seal. I will layer OCW next wash after the Nano Seal has properly cured

430 has just the Swissol Light Cleaner Fluid + Concorso Wax - the red is so deep and rich its unbelievable. Wheels and CF with OCW. I have no idea what to use on the exhaust - they are a weird finish, a rough gritty titanium

ill post the other cars when done. My mate will be prep'ing the metallic black this Monday

Vehicles look great!

I will have to say that based soley on the photos, that the Concorso does have a slightly different appearance than I'm used to seeing with other carnaubas.

Granted its hard to distinguish the differences from some photos, but to me it looks like the Swissol is much more reflective than Souveran. I really, really like the look, the cars are outstanding! Nice Work.

thanks for the feedback guys

i was contemplating trying the Souveran since i wasnt 100% happy with the P21S, but thought id rather use that cash towards a premium wax instead

the finish does look better in person, especially at night driving through the city with the lights washing over the panels

re camera, im using a canon ixus (400 i think) its a 5 mp. It doesnt like taking pics in direct sunlight though

PICS are awesome! I have used Swissol Scruderia (the one designed for Ferrari paint) with excellent results. The Z looks stunning and very nice Volk Wheels!

01blue, did you try layering the scuderia wax?

i was told the swissol waxes have very very little cleansers so can be layered

Very impressive to say the least. Judging by the pics, it appears to have excellent reflectivity, clarity, and range, while still being very "emotional" looking. Souveran is very deep and wet, but the look is more distorted(or so it seems, judging by your pics) than the Concorso.

Very nice results. How long do you intend to layer though? I wouldn't necessarily take Swissol's recommendation as set in stone, unless you intend to do a lot of maintenance. You can go up as many coats as you like with the wax, as long as you take care in keeping the paint clean. If their cleaning fluid is like a wax enhancing qd, where it doesn't strip off any significant amount of wax, then I would say ok. However, if it chemically cleans by stripping the wax, then I'd ask that you'd stick it out awhile and get the most out of the layering.

Impressive results all the same.

Bence I might be treading thin waters here, but let me get a little spin on the distortion thing with Souveran. I noticed that with some paint surfaces using Souveran, very distant images may not be quite as clear as compared with other refined waxes. Those images may appear grainy or blurred in its reflection. That could be a given, because it may actually be caused by a rough paint or clearcoat surface (orange peel) or a not so well prepped paint surface.

However, I have seen other examples of impressive reflective results with souveran as well.

Lester, thanks for your words. I think some LSPs can show little optical imperfections more because their actives are unable to form an absolutely even coating. They may amplify orange peels from certain angles.

I've never used Souverän, but I do use pure carnaubas (Victoria Wax) though.

Well unless a product is 100% optically clear, it will distort the paint in one way or another. Souveran distorts the paint in a very pleasant way, creating unreal depth and wetness, and slightly darkening the paint's color(on perfectly polished paint). Judging by the pics, it appears the Concorso is a bit brighter and has sharper reflections than Souveran, while still appearing "emotional" looking. I have used Souveran, but I have never used Concorso.

I agree 100% with this statement. While Souveran is just unreal on black, I think that some sealants(Blackfire comes to mind for me) will allow the reflections to be sharper from farther away. I call this effect "optical range".

yeah the P21S was the same, it made the panels look like they had more orange peel and the actual reflections were cloudy - i noticed this straight away on the Z because during winter i was using the Polylack Nano Clean + Nano Seal (think Klasse AIO+SG) which was pretty much optically perfect like Z2-Pro, and applying the P21S as my final layer

lbls1, Swissols cleaner is quite strong. The paint after applying is 'squeeky' clean and quite grippy. I rekon it would remove a carnauba and some sealants

the only draining thing about this wax, and i guess all carnaubas, is having to put the car out in the sun afterwards. Its great that these carnaubas leave no chalky residue when removing, but i still have to hose the car down again anyway to get all the outside dust off - just a small vent

im going to use 2-3 coats of Z2-pro on dad's metallic black 996 TT S on Monday, since it's one of his dailys. Im pretty sure the Z2-Pro cures instantly with the ZFX, is that right? I want to apply the Concorso as my final layer on the same day

You will have to tell us how you do with Zaino and the Concourso. I kind of hate saying it, but I personally would not add a carnauba to a Zaino finish. I have seen examples of a carnauba-zaino finish, but none of those examples paralleled a painfully applied pure polish and carnauba example.

I still get goose pimples from a simple polish and Zymol (any Zymol) wax combination on a clear red paint surface...............perfection.

How do you like Swissol's range? From the pics it looks very competitive.

the Z was my second ever Swissol wax (the first being the 430). The cleaner fluid light was hard to remove using a dry MF clothe - had to apply very little pressure in fear of inducing more swirls, so it took a good hour to remove. Im not too sure how the cleaner fluid would react to rubbers since i made it a point to keep away from them

the wax spreads as easy as P21S, and wiped off just as easy

im contemplating stepping up to the Swissol Mystery (55% carnauba), doubtful ill see much improvement over Concorso, but ill have a new car arriving March/April which should form the perfect excuse

re the Zaino. I know not ideal, but for the amount of cars dad has, and being a daily, i want max protection because i just dont get the time to wax them that often

Swissol cleaner fluid, should be applied, worked in, and then wiped and buffed quickly, with light pressure before it has time to dry.

Never apply like a wax, do a section at a time, then buff away, do not let it dry because it just adds work to the process.

The Swissol Mystery is very similar to Zymol's Destiny. They are both comprised of 'White' carnauba(obtained from refining yellow).I have only ever noticed a *very* slight difference between Mystery and Concorso,in that Mystery gives slightly more range, and is harder to work with.

FWIW, most of the Factory Detailers in Switzerland, will reach for the Concorso/Smaragd(the new version), over the Mystery, because it is easier to work with.
