Stimulus Incentive Check

me too...$1200 is about 1/7th of mine...stupid taxes
When you're talking about that kind of money it's something you have to be thinking about all year long. You also must have a very nice house to pay $8500 in property taxes. I hope your public schools are first class schools.

That is a beautiful part of the State if I recall correctly from my drive by many years ago. Along the mountains?

I've been to all 50 states and I can't think of a place I would rather live. I look out the window and could hit the Wasatch Mountain Range with a rifle shot. Literally I could take a 15 minute walk and be at the foot of Mount Loafer, 11,000 and some odd feet. It's beautiful.

He's in real estate so he better :D

We do get a lot of services around here too, but we also have a local school tax that is also more than $3k, and yes our schools are rated as some of the best in the country and our school teachers can easily make $100K after a few years :passout:

While I'm not a big fan of all the taxation, all I have to do to feel better about it is remember.
Remember when I didn't pay any property taxes because I didn't have any property.
Remember when I didn't pay much income tax because I didn't have much income.
Somehow, now seems better. :)

Now, if you want to get me on a roll about taxes, let's discuss how they are being spent. :wall
Actually, it's probably better that we don't. :D

Nice find JaredP :bigups

I own real estate, but I am not in realestate...not as a career that is...

Its an ok size house with a decent size property, but its just this small town that really has no businesses to help pay some of the taxes...

I don't know what I'll do with mine. We got sort of lucky this year with some enexpected cash flow from a refinance and some really good bonuses, so I really don't have anything left on my list of urgent purchases. Detailing has been going great and my business is way in the black with several hundred sitting in my product fund for '08, so I think the stimulus money is just going into savings to make it a nice round number and the rest will probably go to pay a landscaper to finish my back yard for me so that I don't have to. I'm just enjoying one of those rare moments when money isn't at the top of my list for stress causing concerns. It gives me more time to stress about everything else. lol

Yes, let's not get on the how our tax dollars are spent topic. I was on an IT project with the IRS for over a year and I was appalled at the waste of money. It is egregious.

Funny that this is to stimulate the economy and the Den's want us to get even more, buy yet they can't wait for the Bush tax cuts to expire... I'm sure most of us make to much to get any $$$ back any ways. Why give $$$ to the people who pay taxes then there are all of those poor people standing in the welfare line already? We all know there the ones that drive the economy...:idea

Not yet, there is a schedule based on the last 2 digits of your Social Security number... On the IRS website you can find the dates.

I have gotten mine. Still have not spent it yet, but I am trying to remedy that. I thought I had found myself a nice bass fishing boat, but it doesn't seem like it's going to work out. I was going to use my stimulus payment towards the purchase. Guess the economy will push on without me.

I wish my accountant would have direct deposited my refund, but he didnt...so I havent seen mine yet. Mine will be going into savings. I run a pretty tight budget, so if I have money that I wasnt planning for....I do my best to save it. :D

Just got my check in the mail today. Along with a letter that says I should be getting my check soon. I love how the government works.

I wonder if I qualify. I haven't lived or worked in U.S. for 4 years. I haven't filed for that long either, so maybe I'm inelegible.
