Steam This !!!

I want to see how it does on carpets floors and fabric seats. Will you post that test when you have time?

Joe, you also have an extractor correct? do you still think that has it place with you business? If so where?

Cheers,

GREG

I did do test but didnt take pics.

The steamer doesn't replace the extractor in your arsenal. It is a wonderful compliment when used on a very dirty interior. It can be used quicker and do a better job on carpet and fabric that isn't very dirty.

I found the extractor cleaned better when we pretreated certain stains and such with the steamer first.

Joe - Nice before and afters! How long did it take the do 1/2 section of the back seats? Would it have come out this clean if you didn't pre-clean/soak with APC? Could the steam damage anything if you left it on the surface too much/long?

As fast as you can pass the steam brush over the surface with a little brushing it comes clean.

I did push the steam to its limits and left it on a plastic surface on my vans door panel. It did damage it but I had to go out of my way to do it.

There ares no excuses on passing on proper training. Renny didn't want to sell me the machine until I was trained on it.

I am signed up to train with him in June.

I don't recall exactly. It was a hair over $1000.

Really? That's kinda amusing actually. I followed the link, hoping to see a price, but it doesn't mention it anywhere, it just says best steamer for "under $1000" or "well under $1000" in about 10 places.

I hate places that don't list a price.

FWIW, all the attachments that came with the steamer my wife bought have pretty hard bristles and they don't seem to soften up at all, at least not to where I feel it would be safe enough for use without putting a towel in between the bristle and whatever I am cleaning. I wish my triangle attachment was similar to what Joe has. Mine is a larger, elongated triangular head attachment. One benefit though is that it has a swivel so I can use it on weird angles, but at the same time the swivel capability is also an annoyance as it does not lock into place, so it swivels when I don't want it to swivel.

I have a Euro Pro "commercial" steamer. I say "commercial" because it is a Euro Pro afterall. My wife ordered it for herself on HSN or QVC for a few bills and I thought it was going to be junk considering the brand, but it has actually worked out pretty well especially for the price. Although she bought it with the intentions of cleaning around the house for herself, it's actually become mine now since I use it quite a bit on car interiors. I really would not be surprised at all if the product was actually manufacturered by another company and rebranded as Euro Pro, as I don't think they even sell anything remotely close to this quality anymore.

Looks like they they don't cater to price shoppers.

Your post is kinda amusing to me. Read my post and you will know the price -"a hair over $1000". Shipping must bump it up a little.

There is a form of using the steamer that does use an attachment that allows a terry towel to be wrapped on it. I am not sure how it works or why you will use it. I will soon I hope.

That's the same attachment I use on plastics and some fabric. The towel helps in picking up any dirt that the steam loosens and prevents the surface from getting too saturated with water. You can even run it over surfaces with no steam (after you've already steamed something) and just the heated towel will clean. I do this on some surfaces that may be more prone to damage with full steam pressure/heat.

Do you have a squeegee attachment for glass? It makes those smoke-filmed interiors a snap. :bigups

Fill us in after you do the training! I have a couple of different attachments that hold towels and I find them pretty useful. Good around the house too, for floors and such.

I never said I was a price shopper, but why should I have to play some kind of game to find out how much something is going to cost me? I have no problem paying for customer service, special hoses, and training, just be up front.

 I feel bad for you, living with all that self-loathing must be a real *****.

Seeing how I quoted the relevant section of your post, I'm not sure how my reading comprehension is at issue here. I know what you paid. Read my post. In what world does "well under $1000" come out to over $1K shipped? Even at a fairly generous $100 for shipping, "well under" doesn't seem to apply. BTW, since I'm obviously a "price shopper", I'll point for comparison purposes that the VX5000 ships for $75 with cart.

I realize you have some sort of personal attachment to this guy, his product, and marketing, but I didn't attack you, and I don't think one was necessary in response.

I called and IIRC the price is 995 with 50+- for shipping.

I ordered a steamer and extractor today...My wallet thanks you Superior Fine

Thank you for clarifying the matter and I trust you will enjoy your steamer as musch as I enjoy mine.
