Sonax is a bargain

When I joined here last year I placed my first order of 'luxury' detailing goodies with autopia. Among that order was the Sonax shampoo. I then found it could be bought in the UK.

So today I headed for the nearest Vauxhall garage to replenish my stock. I picked up 2 new 500ml bottles, £3.75 ($6.90) each and then spotted an old bottle collecting dust.....this was 1L and I blagged it for £2.35 ($4.32) :D couldn't see any more old ones :( :p

I've now just looked at the store here and seen how much it is $12.95 :scared

This must be a first.........products cheaper in the UK than US :D :bounce

I've just recently started using it after I picked up a bottle from my local Vauxhall dealer (along with a bottle of R2000). I was charged £3.92 for 500ml. My dealer also had large containers of it, looked larger than 5ltrs but I didn't check too closely.

I noticed the price of it in the Autopia shop aswell. Very unusual as you mention Tony. Funny that the R2000 works out at roughly the same price - I paid £6.45 for a 5ooml bottle - $10.95 in the Autopia shop.

Still, it's a nice shampoo - not too much different to GC IMO, apart from the £1 price difference, so I will continue to use it until I have a chance to try NXT.

I didn't notice any larger containers, I'll have to ask next time.........though it could be quite a while now :) especially as when the NXT wash arrives I'll be trying that out too :D

I also picked up some Carplan Triplewax shampoo from Wilkinsons store, £1.75 for 1L (500ml with 100% extra :up) just to use on the wheels, somehow it seems a waste to use the 'better' shampoos on wheels :nixweiss

The Vauxhall dealers who dont stock Sonax should be able to order it. It still prefer the Wack shampoo from Iauto but it is more expensive.

Snap! I use the exact same stuff on my wheels and wheel-wells. Got mine from Wilko's aswell I think! Does a good job IMO, loads of suds! :up

What does Vauxhall mean?

Is that a UK thing?

I ask only because there is a tiny town near me named Vauxhall and a street named Vauxhall.

I'm curious of its origin.

Phew, glad I'm not alone :)

I never read the bottle instore, so was amazed how little you need of it, will last for a long, long time........especially as I actually bought 2 :D

For the non-mathematicians thats 4L of shampoo I bought today :D:D:D:D

Tom... the only Vauxhall I'd touch would be the VX220.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't label Vauxhall cars "fine machines". They aren't that highly regarded over here in the UK, although they are a fairly popular make of car. Vectra's tend to be the standard issue for company Sales Representitves.

The town(and street ) will be named after the London suburb of vauxhall.
