Sonax is a bargain

Just to get vaguely back on topic. I compared Sonax wheel cleaner against Autoglym and Comma. For me, Autoglym is better. The Comma is good strong stuff but the smell is terrible, maybe acid based??

Somebody said it was going to be coming to Canadian Tire under a different name. Anybody seen it there yet?

Several of the Sonax products are available at Canadian Tire relabeled as Jacques Villeneuve brand (including the soap).

The Vauxhall dealers who dont stock Sonax should be able to order it.

OK I might try that. I keep meaning to ask my neighbour where he gets his Sonax - but I guess he gets it from work (he works for McLaren)

Not to forget that many towns etc are named after British place names, Boston, (New) York etc etc.

I live in the County of Essex in the State of New Jersey. Now if that isn't a rip off of British naming conventions, then I don't know what is!

Oh, I love Sonax. My favorite shampoo. I have tried zillions of shampoos and I rely on Meguiars #62 with a squirt or two of Sonax. Great combo.

Last year Davidb had a sale of 30% off each bottle of Sonax. I bought a bunch and still have a handful left! So 30% off of $8.95 (price at the time) is $6.28 a bottle. So you see, I still beat you with my US price, so don't get too giddy on me! ;)

So far I have only tried the shampoo and wheel cleaner. They are good, no doubt about it, but my preferences are elsewhere.

I suspect your Essex is absolutely nothing like the English one.

Why mix them together? How much is 'a squirt'? One of my 'squirts' was rather large......the nozzle came off :o talk about suds........:LOLOL

You may have beaten me then......but not now :D

Dave, your neighbour can probably get you a supply if he gets it from work........might be the cheapest ever ;)

Given how badly McLaren performed over last weekend, maybe they should concentrate on performance and not shinny cars.

I think Sonax have a tie in with several F1 teams including BAT

An extra squirt is like an ounce or so. I think it helps add to the cleaning capabilities and lubricity of the #62 since it's fairly mild.

I don't know :nixweiss Somehow I feel I get a better wash with nice sheeting action and shine.

You don't say? I'm going to have to scoot up there and get me some of this. Are any of their other products good?

I've noticed in other threads you mentioned you mixed them, always wondered why. I may have to try something like that in future.

As with everything on autopia, if you like the results you get, using what you do, then that's all that counts :)

Blake,

Where did you see the Sonax products? I have been into every Canadian Tire Store in the area and I have not seen them yet.

Southern ontario? (Such as near me, by the NYS boarder?) :( I'm saddened now.

I was in Ancaster @ Hwy 2 & 53 by Walmart and they had the JV line there. Upper James did not have it the other day. Ancaster had several new items last week incl a bunch from Black Magic.

By the way I was Stateside today and NXT was only available in Advance on Niagara Falls Blvd. Really slow getting out to the Walmarts etc over there.

Corey if you come this way you'll find some high prices. Many things are double the price in WNY. (5 Microtek towels are $7.99 but you can buy 20 @ Sam's Club for $9.80) I know they are cheap towels but OK for jambs & glass.

Now if only I could find a Vauxhall dealer near me that stocks Sonax!

Dave,

If you seriously want some let me know as J Davy in Basingstoke stock it - plus you've got a Vauxhall main dealer over your way, haven't you?

Andy
