Anthony your advice with throwing the mitt in the dryer was right on,after washing the car today i did exactly as you said and the mitt came out as soft as it was when i bought it and smelled fresh and clean. Thanks for the heads up..

No problem, never seen it fail yet. I wonder why some of the vendors recommend never putting the mitt in the dryer? They couldn't be more wrong. A mitt left to dry on it's own will dry stiff as a board and in a very short time will rot and fall apart. It will start losing clumps of fur and stink.

Also make sure to turn the mitt inside out to dry the inside than turn it back to normal and the furry side will dry in just a few minutes in the dryer.

Thanx for all the info on the Sheepskin.com thing. I've got a few different mitts. The only one I can complain about is from Simoniz (Canada, CT), but I'm always on the hunt.

Man, I just bought a sheepskin mit from Walmart a couple weeks ago but after reading your reviews and seeing the pics I feel like ordering a mit from sheepskin.com

Chris get the camel ones..they are the 'most' softest ...or better, get the black and silver too along with the sheepskin shampoo :stuart:

Hey guys i have an update on the sheepskin.com mitts. So i decided after seeing them being praised her to go ahead and buy one of each color after all they are a great deal at only 8.99 each. So the mitts arrive today and i open them up and start feeling the mitts. Man is the black one ultra thick and plush. The gray and camel are almost the same although the gray seem to be a bit plusher than the camel both are very soft. So i go back to the black one and start feeling it and i discover that i am feeling some very hard objects in the mitt. Almost feels like rocks or something in it so i really start digging and feeling and next thing i know the mitt begins coming apart and chunks of the mitt are now coming out as i dig in and feel for them. So I have one mitt that has a area that is almost 3"x2" long now missing the Knapp. So i call Sheepskin.com and tell them and they say no problem but we have never heard of this problem. They are sending me a new mitt and a return label to get this one back since they want to see it and why this happen. You know how when the mitts get old chunks start falling out when washing or rinsing. Well that is what is going on luckily i fond this prior to them hitting my paint. So inspect your mitts completely before using.

Yes i will not hesitate to buy from them again. The ket here was they are taking care of it wihtout issue and are also sending a return shipping label to get the bad mitt back. However i may not buy another black mitt as I think this issue may be related to dying of the fur. I really like the Gray mitt.

Sorry to bring back an old thread...but I have a Simoniz mitt and just wanted to know why you said it was bad? (I'm a noob...so not complaining just wondering).

Thanks in advance...

As long as the mitt is soft/plush it should be fine. Feel the mitt to make sure it dosent have anything hard within the wool that would marr the paint.

btw,has anyone tried out or seen turtle wax mitts. I found three euros at walmart and they werent the best of quality..

They are not bad mitts at all. Like any sheepskin mitt the quality varies from mitt to mitt. You need to go through several of them and pick the best ones. The best of the Simonz are very good.

No need to apologize for bringing back this thread you used the search feature it appears to me instead of starting a new thread. Good Job.
