Wouldn't it be fairly easy to just look at what you are posting and decide if it really should be in the thread you are planning to post to? Many of the discussions could and maybe should be covered in a PM. It seems like it requires an awful lot of reading to find the relevant info in many posts. In my instance, I have just stopped reading a lot of them. That's just me, but I wonder how many others have been turned off or away by having so much chit/chat that doen't really apply to anything.
 
You can typically tell if it is going to be a response which is topic related or one that is a two word attempt at padding a post count by the name of the poster. That is how I decide whether or not to read it, by the name of the poster. Sad, but true.

I think adding a moderator will help combat this problem though. Hopefully we haven't driven anyone away.
 
I am guilty of the chit chat a lot. But there are tiems when I sti there and realize that some of the stuff I say is really not necessary. I try to inser humor posts from time to time, or add little punchlines to some other posts, just in an effort to make the board more fun. However there are times when I really get wondering about a topic, and someone else is along the same train of thought, and it ends up with a long string of posts.

I agree. There a few who are posting........... just to post. It's one thing to have a little fun in a thread or two, but it's another thing when people post just to get their "post count" up......... day after day! I've seen a couple of the forums here with replies to nearly every thread in that forum by the same person.

Like you, I just don't bother to read them.
 
I beg you all to stay. If you leave or stop posting we will lose what dc should be and once was. Those who are problems are being delt with. I hope we can get things back to the way where everyone is happy again.

You deleted my pm? Did I do something really wrong here? Are you upset with me boss? If so I'm really sorry. Please let me know what i can do for ya. I'm sorry your getting exaserbated.
 
Not upset! After three 12 hour days in a row, I come here to relax, have a little fun, and maybe help somebody out, or learn something. I try not to take it as serious as others. After all, it's only wax and stuff on a big hunk of metal, rubber and plastic.

There will be a learning curve for everyone here..the site is growing quickly and we must try to keep it friendly but informative.....remember Tassadar..this is a detailing site not a chat room...a comment on everythread is not needed...only ones you can add something informative(not really picking on you..just been reading this whole thread)
 
Bah feel free to pick on me, half of the time I find it funny.
