Good Evening,

These details have been accumulated and (hand) picked to be posted. They belong to fellow internet board members (you know who you are) and proved to be very kind and pleasant customers to deal with (thanks!)

First up, a Saab 9-5 Aero.

Generally speaking, the car was in nice shape. The owner picked it up used so there was some heavy swirling, but other than that, just normal soil levels. My finals were:

-Meguiar's Overspray Clay
-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut/OCP (50/50) via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1500 rpm
-Blackfire Ceramiclear Polish via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1200 rpm
-Z6 wipedown
-Z5 Pro (ZFX'd) by hand

-Z16 on tires/trim
-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

Next up, a Lexus RX330.

Relatively new and in very nice shape. I worked on the scratches (garage door mishap) for about an hour. With them, I sanded the rough edges, touched-up x 2, wetsanded, compounded, polished, and sealed. My finals on the rest were:

-Meguiar's Overspray Clay
-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut/OCP (50/50) via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1500 rpm (spot buff)
-Blackfire Ceramiclear Polish via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1200 rpm
-Z6 wipedown
-Z5 Pro (ZFX'd) by hand

-Z16 on tires/trim
-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

Yes, wow! I couldn't believe the flake!

Last up, same owner, Scion xB.

The vehicle is a project car (crazy setup inside) and is parked most of the time. It was recently clayed and waxed by the owner, which helped my work a little bit (thanks, Frank). My finals were:

-Meguiar's Overspray Clay
-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut/OCP (50/50) via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1500 rpm
-Blackfire Ceramiclear Polish via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1200 rpm
-Z6 wipedown
-Z5 Pro (ZFX'd) by hand

-Z16 on tires/trim
-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

I also want to thank Scottwax for the referral on the Lexus and Scion :D.

Questions/Comments/Advice, please feel free.

Man nice work!

I love Scion's paints. So metallic and a nice clearcoat. Look at the metal in that blue.

Good job.

Unreal Sean.

That combo looks VERY good on metallic paint.

I'm guessing the interior & wash process takes more time than the polish & seal steps these days. You are an animal!

Very nice work and all of them!

I wish that I could have been a fly on the wall for the wet sanding. I have read and seen of your results. Am a little reticent to attempt wet sanding because of the "do no harm rule". It is always nice to see a change and the garage door marks sure made a change. Hard to correct when the paint is gone.

Thank you.

Jared: Yep, and a lot of them. Unfortunately those major defects always come out when you are down with swirl removal.

cw: Thank you...Don't be too scared. If you are, then grab a junk panel and start keying it :). See what you can do to bring it back.

Good advice Sean. This will be something to take the time up when I get back to Texas. I am sure that I can talk the Little Detailer into going to the junk yard with me and picking out something to work on.

Damn those are some nice results. Had to turn the brightness of my computer monitor down after seeing that Saab. Beautiful. work.

Sean,

You can do my Posche anytime!:D NICE WORK AS ALWAYS!

That metal flake reminds me of the old dune-buggy days, with the fiberglass body that has metal flake as big as all hell!

Regards,
Deanski

Sean,

"So fresh and so clean"
Do any of your client get use to the treatment and forget how bad it was before you first came to you or do they think it always looks like that...

?'s 4 u
1. When you mix HT-Ec with OcP, does ocp just add more work time or does it add to more cut?How many passes?
2.Blackfire CC Polish was it need after your before step and is it comparable to 85 or 106?

By the way was the Scion paint soft paint as i heard easy to scratch and easy to polish out or no?

Thank you.

DJ:

The HT/OCP mix reduces the splatter and dust as well as makes the product easier to work for a long time. I usually do 2-3 very slow overlapping passes.

BF CC Polish is pretty much rebottled PO106FF.

seeing those two blue cars come out so nice makes me really want to do the truck. Its just as light as the saab but has nice flake like the scion.
