S&W = Simply Wonderful

I just wanted to say that this stuff is great and saved me lots of time. I got my shipment on Wednesday and used it for the first time today. The car had been washed last Sunday and I only drove it once during the week. It was mainly dusty and dry until yesterday when it rained all day. The bodywork also had a few muddy paw prints from the neighbour's cat. :ticked

I think I may have sprayed too much on at first, the hood was sort of streaking as I wiped. But that wiped off very nicely a second time. After doing the whole car including the vinyl softtop, it looked as good as when I wash with water and shampoo. Except my hands weren't frostbitten and feet weren't all wet.

Then I broke out my new bottle of QD+, never used this before. Lightly misted the panels and spread it around with an MF. Let it haze and it easily wiped off with the clean side of the MF. The car looked fantastic! I use the past tense as it's just rained again this evening, maybe that's a good thing because it means I can practice using S&W again tomorrow morning. :D

Let me continue this thread and my new found love for Poorboy's S&W :) . But, first let me complain about Winter and salt :ticked . Two days before a snow storm is forecasted to arrive the salt / brine solution trucks come out and pre-treat the roads. That leads to a lovely two days driving in a white dust storm. Then the real "storm" hits with a just a little coating of snow and ice so we drive to and fro work in that. Then the day after the big snow, all the ice treatment and cinders are left on the roads for another day of white dust and other goodies (but at least the roads are dry). This stinks. One crappy dusting of snow and four days of a messy vehicle  .

So now I get home from work, it's freezing cold outside about 15 degrees, and I need to clean the vehicle, you know that feeeling :naughty . I say to myself bag the QEW let's really test this S&W stuff out since it's probably near or below freezing in my garage and dealing with water is not very fun in these conditions :wall . The vehicle is pretty well coated with salt on the side panels and rear, but the hood and roof are fairly clean except for that purple bird doo doo. Where in the heck that bird got purple grapes to eat when it's this cold I'll never know :rolling , but it got the hood, windshield and roof all in one shot. I first shoot the purple doo doo with S&W and wait a few seconds and it wipe's off with ease. Usually the purple ones are buggers, but not this time. I continued on and realized the side panels coated in salt was going to take some extra product to safely remove. I liberally sprayed the panels with three or four shots of S&W and it safely removed the salt and dirt for me. After I went around I noticed some salt residue and streaking that I needed to go back over a second time with a mist of S&W and a fresh towel. Despite this I was very pleased that this was all happening without any water to deal with in such cold temperatures. I forgot to mention I am working on our silver XC90 Volvo SUV. Till I was done with everything I used about 6 oz's of S&W and three mega plush towels. I also did the wheels, wheel wells and plastic trim with 2 terry towels and an old MF for final wipe down. I was done in about 30 minutes, which was very good considering the temperature and condition of the car. That's about the same amount of time for a QEW maybe a little less since I would have to add the time to dry and also change out the water to do the wheels and wheel wells, by drudging back and forth into the house for the warm water.

I dressed the tires with BNB and then took an extra 30 minutes to slap on a coat of NXT booster wax and also treat the plastic trim with Meg's #40. I have the NXT wax currently on this vehicle, and the booster quickly and easily brings back the pop between waxing on the Silver Metallic paint. So in one hour in sub freezing temperatures I took a salted, messed up SUV and made it bling bling :wow . Thanks be to S&W :bigups .
