As requested, here is my review of Spray and Wipe vs. QEW (used as a QD type product)
I don’t have any pics of the car that I tried this stuff out on because they don’t really show anything
The dirt that was on there was hard to capture, am I wasn’t using the best camera anyways.
The spray and wipe is just the standard stuff, I didn’t do anything to it. I filled the other spray bottle with 32oz of water, and I put in half a capful of QEW.
My car was waxed just a few days ago, and it has hardly any dirt on it… just a really light coat of dust.
I have liked S&W a lot when I have used it before. You only need a light spraying of it on an area and you are set. It picks up dust/dirt easily.
Today was the first time that I have tried out QEW in this manner. With a light spray, it doesn’t bead up at all. It lays completely flat on the paint while S&W groups together a very tiny bit at least. When I wiped up the QEW there was no lubricity to be found. S&W has always been slippery. So S&W has the edge there.
At this point I didn’t like how the QEW mix was working so I decided to add another capful to my spray bottle to see how it did. After this, it didn’t seem as watery and I could notice the QEW in there even more now. I think it worked a bit better with a stronger concentration.
So now I’m tired of writing a review like this, so here is an easy comparison thing:
QEW:
Low Lubricity... its like water
Better than S&W at cleaning birdpoo and the like
I think this has a slight edge at cleaning glass.
“holds to the paint just fine, but when larger quantities are sprayed on, it starts to stream off
Spray and Wipe:
High Lubricity
Not as good as QEW at cleaning birdpoo
Smells better
“holds to the paint better than qew
Final Verdict: I wouldn’t mind using QEW on pretty clean glass like this. Its better than using harsh chemicals when they aren’t needed and it might be easier to use than straight water. I don’t think its really slick enough to be used in this manner for paint. S&W seems a lot safer and it’s a bit easier to use.
Hope this helps
