Rubber friendly Tire Dressing

I think Vinylex is a good, affordable alternative to 303. It is gentle and water based, is made for rubber protection, contains UV protectants, and I've never had it "sling" while on my tires.
 
I've tried several dressings but what I've found with most dressings they turn your tires brown , esp. with Armour and Black Magic.

Lately I've used Endurance and it does not turn your tires brown but does sling even after going back and buffing them again a second time after applying.



So which dressing doesn turn your tires brown after getting washed off with rain and also does not sling ?

If you want a tire dressing that will not turn your tires brown then use One Grand's ERV dressing. its great stuff. works on all rubber, vinyl and plastic. I have been using on my tires since I replaced using Vinylex on my tires. Vinylex is great stuff and I like it alot but it just does not hold up well on tires after a few washings or rainfall. ERV is long lasting will not sling will not turn the tires brown will not chalk up on plastic trim or will not crack any of the materials its used on. Its a great product and I have been down the road with all of the tire dressings out there and this one is my favorite. I also use their Chrome Polish on my wheels. Its the best chrome polish I have ever used and it makes the chrome sparkle. another one of their great products at One Grand.

You can go to their website at www.onegrand.com and they have all the authorized dealers listed. I get mine from car care specialties here in NJ and it cost me less at CCS for the ERV than buying from one grands website. $11.70 vs.$12.95. CCS website is www.carcareonline.com check them out. you will not find One Grand products in any retail store like walmart or most chain auto part stores unfortunately. good luck.

I tried Megs vinyl and rubber protectant yesterday and applied it with an Eagle One tyre swipe and buffed off with an MF. Not too bad at all, and thats in comparison to 303 and ArmorAll I normally use....

I am also very impressed with this product. I just spray it on and wipe off with a cotten towel and it looks very clean and nice. It actually has very good cleaning ability as well so it will usually get the towel dirty even after I've cleaned the tires.

flings onto wheels catching brake dust, recommend meg or black magic spray for tires, thicker and doesnt drip or fling.

It's not true. Control the spray stream or apply to a rag and then put it onto your tire. Buff it off if you get sling.

I'm thinking you are maybe having a problem with application. I don't have any drip or sling at all. I apply it to the tire only, and don't spay it on the metal wheel at all.



I also don't have dusting problems. Upgrade to ceramic pads. You will never regret it. :up



I will also not let another Black Magic product touch my car. Their QD is crap (but smells good) and their chinille wash mitt scratches. :down
 
i use 2 products on wheels one is megs endurance which i love exept it slings a little ...

and also one that no one has mentioned turtle wax's formula 2001 in the flourescent bright green bottle....spray it on in a fine mist ....one of those aerosol type pump sprayers would be great for it or just adjust the nozzle for mist ...then let it sit for like 5-10 minutes(it kinda bonds and gels a little) then either using a cloth or applicator spray a little on it to even the spreading then just go around the tire....it has uv protection and a great shine if applied this way and satin if just rubbed in
 
My fave is 303. I've replaced it with NXT Protectant because it 's a bit expensive for tire duty. Still use it for the interior.



I've been very happy with Vinylex. It's a bit glossier than 303.



I've used Meg's Endurance and liked it initially but it leaves a greasy mess and eventually browns the tires (Bridgestone SO-3s). Cleaning tires became a major PITA. It's sitting on the shelf awaiting expiration.



NXT Protectant is also a tad greasy but I've been satisfied with it as a 303 replacement for a tire dressing. I wil not use on interiors because of greasiness. Hard to get off my fingers when I get overspray trying to put some on tire applicator. It lasts about 2 weeks or through 2 washings/rain events. Its got a subdued glossiness. I've had no slinging problems. I'll keep using it for the tires.

That BnB is in 303 territory in terms of price per gallon. Does it have UV protection like 303 and Vinylex?
 
While I really like Endurance, it's a pain to apply sometimes. I've been trying the new Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel and so far, I really like it. It doesn't have the durability of Endurance, but it last much longer than 303 and the like. I last put it on just before a stretch of wet weather and it held up pretty well. It's not super glossy, which I like. Just a very clean matte black look. The directions say that you can do another coat for more gloss.



Very easy to apply. It's a clear gel, thinner than Endurance and seems to spread on the tire very well. It really gets into all the little ridges that I normal have to keep going over to get the Endurance to fill in without looking bad or pooling in areas. I followed the directions and didn't drive the car for at least an hour after applying and didn't have any problems with slinging.
 
I haven't played around with too many products, being pretty much a newbie and all, but I really like Protect All. I use it on the mags too, and brake dust just comes off with a mist of water and a wipe. Leaves a nice, black, matte finish.
