Rubber friendly Tire Dressing

Interesting, I never thought a product with carnauba wax could look good on tires too. Is this the Protect All product Wal Mart carries?

Has anyone tried shining monkey? A few of the guys on solaraguy have talked it up. I like the Meguiars Endurance, but not the High Gloss.

I have really warmed up to Z-16. It is a great product and goes far. I had to get a bit used to the satin finish-previously I thought the glossier the better. Now I prefer the more subtle satin look. Z-16 has great durability as well.

BnB goes a long long way and it sure seems to keep the tires black. I apply with a sponge and it's amazing how little is used. It is a water based product like 303.

I apply vinylex to my tires a few times so I get the UV protection then the rest of the year I use Stoners. Stoners is one of the few products that I've used that will last. I've used 303 but it doesn't quite give me the shine or the longevity I wanted.

BillD... .apparently Waldo Mart US does carry it....Waldo Canada doesn't, though.....but it's sold at a lot of RV outfits both sides of the line.

I think the stuff's really something else....you can use it on everything.....I've just come back from using it as a "quick detailer"....it's not really a quick detailer, though, because I've just entirely renewed my protection (not to mention shine--it's very glossy, with a really clear reflection).

I call it a quick detailer (sometimes) just because it's so quick! :) That's why all the 'ol fellas in their 100 foot RVs love it so much--it cleans and shines, and does so almost effortlessly.

I use it on everything. See this thread: Protect All Thread

I've got some updating to do on the thread....just haven't found the time.

And, to pull this back on topic, I really like what it does for the tires. Put it on once every few weeks, and wash them when you wash your car (I just rub them with a terry cloth), and they just stay that nice matte black.

If you're looking for max gloss with a wet look, try Eagle 1's tire spray or gel. I have stopped using Endurance because it's not slick and wet look enough.

I don't know of anyone here that's tried it, but they were nice enough to give us some hit-and-run spam to deal with. A new poster, first and only post, sings the praises of the canned meat, and drops the URL. The poster's IP resolved to the same area in FL where the company is located. You do the math.

I'm not sure if all of the products mentioned so far are necessarily rubber friendly, to discuss that in detail would probably lead to another lengthy discussion/debate about silicones/PDMS. Sounds like look/degree of gloss is the top feature folks are looking for in a tire dressing.

Protect All on the paint looks good but on the tires it doesn't do much but a little cleaning.I didn't dare try it on the vehicles so I gave it a try on one of the tractor tires. You can judge for yourself.

51 replies and no body has mentioned Megs #40. This stuff is rubber friendly, looks good (not too much shine), lasts about as long as the other water based dressings, does not turn my tires brown, and no sling when buffed off properly. Also it's available anywhere you buy Megs pro products.:up

I saw a show on Discovery about a guy who detailed all those high end bling bling cars in Cali - they asked him how he got the tires to look so black (they looked awesome) he said he would give away his secret - motor oil ! - they would get some on a rag and swipe it on the tire then wipe off the excess - they looked awesome but I dunno about motor oil ..but then again they were 250,000 cars and up! so he must be doing something right.
