Review: Opti-Seal

Justin I cant give a durability statement at this time I havent had it on any thing I own long enough.

As far as OS over a wax I have only applied it over Poli-Seal. Other than this I am uaeing it as a stand alone LSP. I can tell you this that the application is alot smother when the paint has a coat of poli-seal on it. Meaning the applicator dose not drag as some have posted. Im sure this would be the same if you had a paste wax as your base. I have 20 coats on various cars and have used a little more then 1oz. I apply it heavy compared to most.

Is there supposed to be a difference?

It looks as if the right side is slightly darker but (to be fair) any difference wouldn't be noticable on film. There may be a difference that your eye could detect in person.

How can you tell if you have applied the product evenly and completely if it evaporates so fast and is clear?

Justin: I like the format of your reviews, personally.

I need to stay off this site, every time I come here I may as well kiss another $20 goodbye.

There are more shadows on the right side, hence why it looks darker. You can also see more of the orange peel because of the shadows.

Always enjoy your reviews and photos Justin. Will be real interested to hear your comments on durability. From a few other reviews on OS it sounds like it sheets rather than beads. I guess that may be a problem to those who don't like things centered. ??

On film it doesn't pick it up as much but the paint on the door is slightly darkened and wetter. In person, the difference was much more obvious. Look at the split in my reflection and I think you can see more clearly.

Uh, no, sorry. It is darker and it is because of OS and not any shadows. The entire driver's side was in the shade and the sun was fully on the passenger side of the car. Look at the reflections of the pavement too.

See I think I just don't have as critical an eye as everyone here.

I guess that's why I'm not a pro :)

I just don't see any difference really. Maybe like you said Scott it's just harder to capture on film.

There were a lot here who said the CS gave a noticable improvement in wetness, but I didn't see it... hopefully I will with the OS.

Thanks for posting the pic though Scott.

It beads on flat surfaces and will roll off on vertical ones.

Like always Justin puts everything right on! I think the opti-seal is going to be one of the best products for 2007. Just my .02 cents
