Review of Optimum No Rinse Wash and Shine w/ Pics

Well I finally broke down and bought this product expecting to only use if for college. I decided to try it out on my fathers BMW and boy was I surprised. I can't believe Ive waited this long on picking this product up after all the high praise.



Procedure....

As Stated by bottle.....2 cap fulls of ONR in 2 gallons of water, one rinse bucket and one Cobra MF Mit, one 24x36 PakShak WW

Cleaned one section at a time starting from roof down and followed up with a WW to dry off.

The Wheels

If the product does have one downside it is BMW wheels with their brake dust. This was one thing I really wanted to see how it worked on.

Done, notice it has problems cutting through baked on dust

However nothing alittle APC and MF towel can't fix

Final Thoughts

A must in everybody's arsenal. Work great and leaves a nice shine. I love being able to sit inside the garage in the middle of the day and clean the car and not have to worry about the sun drying the water and leaving water spot. Also I stay cool and dont have to wash the car at 7 in the morning before the sun starts bearing down. Very easy to use and takes about the same time as with a hose. Probally will be faster as I get more used to it. The only two downsides I really notice is its inability to cut through some break dust and grease and its terrible smell. However keep some APC and MF towel handy and you are set.

Great pics....My 2005 Red RX8 has never seen a hose wash. I really need to do one and clean the wheel wells and up under the car. Good stuff!

Had not thought of that. I use ONR exclusively mostly for ease of use. I love the results.

I too need to jump on this bandwagon and sing the praises of ONR. Did my first wash today with it on the BLACK car. Then, used it as clay lube for my old RED car that I'm going to try to PC back to life tomorrow.



Last week, I tried a QD on the Black car cuz I was too lazy to do a full wash. I cringed every time I wiped it down. With the ONR, it's much better and I don't worry at all since I use the spray bottle and clean/wet MF.



I got my 32oz bottle from Ranney cuz he was out of Gallons. Who else sells Gallon sizes? (with an Autopian discount)

Wow you can cut through dirt that easily with NRWS? Isn't it slightly harsh to use APC / MF for that extra grime? I guess an final wet wipe is needed.

I am really amazed at what it picks up. Still for heavily soiled vehicles Id probally use a hose because I may be quicker at getting some stuff off with a pre-rinse. I use 1:10 dillution followed by a damp MF.

Nice review, I think the more you use ONR the more you will like it, only real drawback is it becomes hard to tell when your LSPs slickness ends!

So ONR does add some slickness? How do you suggest claying using this system?

Good review. I was worried about moving to a new place in a couple month's that has an ocean view, but no garage and no hose. I think I will be picking up some ONR from Patrick soon. Now I have to worry about the salt air.

I'd love to find a quick wash answer to my need to wash my black 993 at the track.

I had thought that Optimum No Rinse was an answer, but I would still need a water source.

If there is a spigot, no problem - I just wash as usual.

But if there is no spigot, I'd like to be able to clean the car, but don't know of a surface friendly product that I can spray on/wipe off.

Suggestions are welcome; thanks!
