I guess i can see where you are coming from. I just thought i was doing a review. Im not pushing their product. Im just a broke college student looking to maintain my car man. haha
:)

And that is exactly what we were hoping to see. You're still a member because we'd like to see you here as a known member doing many more reviews. If it had been determined that you were in fact a shill your IP would have been banned.

Let me be the first to welcome you to AF. I hope to see much more of you around. We have a number of broke college students and your opinions will be welcomed.

Might I suggest forgetting this thread and starting over by introducing yourself in the appropriate forum?

Just my biased opinion but as a college student (imho) you should be more observant. You come to a detailing site, obviously sponsored, obviously NOT affiliated with the product you are shilling (reviewing) and your first post is about a competing product.

You can go back to 3d and tell them, I for one will never buy another product from them. EVER. I have bought from them in the past, so they will never get another nickel out of me.

But I will say, you may want to consider a different career than journalism or writing. You even surpassed my lack of writing in reviews.

Thanks guys. I mean no harm haha. Yeah i'll have to post more often. So what's the procedure if i want to do a product comparison or just post me detail. I don't want to be in trouble again haha

I guess you are right. I just didn't think that it was a serious issue, but boy i was wrong. The review was done quickly so i wasn't turning a paper haha. I'm actually an engineering major haha, but that hurt haha.

Have fun with it

nobody says it has to be perfect, enjoy the site, ask questions, lots of people here to help
(only one grumpy old fart = me)

review stuff, ask questions about stuff, look at other peoples stuff. ask, suggest

well ya beat me for least amount of words in a review except for one I think and that was "I liked it"

there are a lot of people here with great skills as far as detailing and great skill as far as writing and teaching. look over some of the reviews and some of the posts in detailers showcase

I'll be sure to check out other people's posts before I even think about posting anything. LOL. Thanks for the welcome and the great info. I apologize again for my mistake.

Start by introducing yourself in the New Autopians Introduce Yourself forum. We like reviews, had you been a known member (not a first time poster) and stated that you too were reviewing a product supplied for the purpose of a review, this thread would not have went down this road. Reviews are great, heads up comparisons are even better. Create a review/comparison and place in the appropriate forum, make comments where they'll be of value particularly where you have experience and have some fun.

The crew on AF is a mixed bag, much like any other forum. Stick around and get to know them. Be yourself, you'll be fine.

I agree. I'll learn from this mistake, that's for sure. Thanks again. I hope to learn some more tips from here. This will definitely not be my last post!:rockon

Also, mine and OP post was removed from another site.

This product is not a 'rinseless' product and OP answered he was experimenting.

I posted the waterless instructions to avoid any confusion and this post was removed, not sure why.

Review should state you are experimenting when used as rinseless to avoid confusion.

Honestly, I like 3D products but all these reviews for free product is....not sure the word but makes me want to stay away from 3D.

Perhaps the words are, "intrusive or a bit much". I like to analyze marketing tactics. Apparently they are having success with this campaign. It's been said many times before. "any press is good press" (regardless of review results) and they are getting their name out there. The reviews I've seen have been at least somewhat favorable.

Should HD be able to turn those who review their products into zealots, they in effect have an inexpensive advertising department. The only associated cost is getting the product in their hands. As I mentioned earlier, it isn't hard to imagine that when someone is giving you free product that there isn't at some level a degree of loyalty/bias being developed. Zaino had some success creating zealots a number of years back though I don't think they were giving the product away.

This said, I see this type of guerrilla marketing to be much akin to leaving flyers on someones windshield. I find that tactic to be a poor means of advertising and it is really a pet peeve of mine.

IMHO very intrusive
and in my case, they lost a customer or potential customer

I'm not defending anyone but why is there so much criticism of 3D. I've seen this on many other forums and I'm just curious as to why? I don't know the whole backstory and I'm curious as to if anything has happened in the past.

for me it's not so much critism of 3d, they really don't have something that is unique to the market. To me I dislike their marketing. In this case in specific, they give stuff away for people to hit all different boards. Essentially it is free advertising for their product, but it's also in my view dis-ingenious. At least in tv advertising, it says "paid spokesman" or similar. In this case (and you are not the first) you get something and hit 309872 different forums, platforms, boards etc touting their product

This board is owned and operated by PBMG, they pay to operate it etc. It for the most cases showcases their product lines, but allow other products to be discussed. Good business in my mind, cuz they get to see whats hot and whats not. Getting a ton of paid endorsements from competition or in this case a line that they would probably be ecstatic if PBMG took and sold.

But quite simply, it's like bringing your own sandwich to a restaurant, not buying anything there and taking a booth to eat the sandwich you got somewhere else.
