Return of the turtle....

I tried the platinum series at wash at the weekend, picked a bottle up when I was out at our local Halfords store. It cost £4.99 which is the same price as Megs Gold Class wash. I have to say I am very impressed! It made plenty of suds (i know this isn't important for cleaning - but i prefer if the do) which lasted right through the wash. It smelt great and felt good on the car - you know - very lubricated. It also left a great finish - overall I am really impressed with it.

If you like NXT, and Nano, and Mothers FX you will like Turtle Pug. Although they work in different ways the results are similar. They all give that wet look shine . One may look a little deeper or shinier, and one may be easier to use , but all in all they are all close. Right now Im on a Mothers FX kick It is the easiest to use, but next month it could be one of the others. Maybe Zaino, Klasse,P21s,and Soverign are the best but for over the counter NXT, Nano ,FX and Turtle Platinum are hard to beat. Id like to also mention Color X and the new Reflection, they are also on my super wax list.

point taken but IMO TW gets ragged on a lot even tho they have some products which stack up competitively with more expensive products(leather conditioner and TWUP)

I agree, and this is most likely because of the brand's reputation. Brands such as Zaino and Pinnacle consistently produce dazzling products, yet with most OTC products, the lines are really hit or miss. TW platinum is probably a good product(I won't comment since I haven't tried it), but no one here would say that their "hard shell" paste(old school TW) is as good as boutique products.

I'll write it again; I don't think I've read a single bad word about TW Platinum here. That leads me to believe that if TW has had a bad reputation, it is based upon evaluations of their products up until this one, not on the brand name. Other OTC products are evaluated on how they produce results as well, rather than the manufacturer; Meguiar's (old formulation of) Gold Class might have been the best selling wax in America, but it didn't get much slack here. And I'd say that Meguiar's is well regarded as a manufacturer.

Every now and then we get a period where people slag on a particular manufacturer; sometimes it's Meguiar's, sometimes it's Zaino, sometimes it's Poorboy's, blah blah blah. Then we come to our senses again and go back to reporting our experiences with the products, how we used them, what we found easy or hard, possible pitfalls and how to avoid them, value, and things like that... the important things, not the insignifigant things like the name on the side of the bottle.

This new line of the shelled reptile is good to say the least. The wax is top notch, the quick detailer quicks @$$, and the interior protectant is glossy and rich (awesome on gray or tan interiors, maybe too shiny for navy or black)

Tom is correct, I don't think anyone that has used the TWPUG wax has said anything bad other than durability can be better.

By the way, if you liked the TWPUG wax as much as I did, you will love the new mothers reflections waxes  :bounce
