Long day's work (9 hours total) and still got another X Type, XK8 convertible & the chairman's XJ8, Merc ML, Audi A6, Ford Puma, brand new Boxster & 2 Focus's to do there

wholey $h*t that is THE best looking black car I have seen in a while along side varong. Seriously talented guy there.

WOW excellent work Andy, absolutely stunning crossfire, and the jags none too shabby either :xyxthumbs I take it these are all paying jobs too ?

Thanks gents and yes they're paying jobs. I've been lucky with GF's office as there's a lot of nice cars owned by people prepared to pay good money for a good job.

Interesting about the 'wonder wheels' product, it is something I have had for a long time, and used it recently on my car, it is an excellent product, but you can't use it on every wheel type. It cannot be used on un-laquered wheels (even damaged laquered wheels!), chrome plated, polished alloys, anodised and several other types of wheel, have to be very careful with its use.

Ooops!

Wonder Wheels is basically a diluted acid (? hyrdochloric) based cleaner made in the UK by Carplan. It's very strong and stings like crazy if you get any on your skin BUT for wheels in as poor shape as those pictured I reckoned the I'd waste any of my usual wheel cleaners/degreasers/APC's.

I dilute it roughly 50/50 with water as neat it's just too strong for my liking - and it still cuts through heavily brake dust very well. Best tip as with any such cleaner is rinse, rinse and rinse again I guess.

Plus, I sealed wheels using the Carlack 68 thus avoiding any future use of such a strong product - hopefully!

The Crossfire owner will hopefully be getting a regular detail in future so I can make sure everything stays looking good for him.

Nice work, especially on the Crossfire, which I have to say is a very unique looking car. It would definitely stand out around here.

Great job both cars look excellent espically the crossfire.

When using a shampoo lube for claying, what mix shampoo/water do you use? and can you use any good shampoo? im using sonax.

And is that Carlack 68 very good?

cheers matt

Nice work Andy. Am really loving Carlack 68 at the moment. Used it on a Friends car at the weekend, never known a second coat off the same product make such a difference.

Did you apply it with the PC in the above pics?

andy,

great work there, mate. May have a regular second income from this, my friend. wow, the cars look fantastic.

I usually use GC shampoo. I have a spray bottle which I literally put a squirt into and top up with water. All you need is enough soap to lubricate the clay enough to prevent any marring.

As for Carlack - see comment below. This stuff rocks!

hehe - loving the Carlack too. Since finding this place and getting bitten by the detailing bug, I can honestly say I've not found another product which is as versatile or gives such good results, particularly as you say with a 2nd coat. Luvin it! Wondering whether AIO will be any different?

Applied by hand - I always apply sealant/wax this way - nothing beats a hand finish IMO plus I've not found any noticeable visual benefit to PC application (although I'd concede that PC will probably give a thinner more even layer but I don't think there's much in it TBH)

Paul - it's a paying hobby at the moment but if it could pay me £200 a day, that'd be a different matter.....

Thanks for all your comments guys.
