Quick Detailer's

Yup, this thread is about just one thing.

Quick Detailers.

I have been using several different QD's from Megs, Eagle One, Four Star, Auto Magic, etc.

Right now, I have these on my shelf

Meguiars Final Inspection
Meguiars Quick Detailer (maroon bottle)
Eagle One Wipe & Shine
Four Star Ultimate Gloss Enhancer
Black Magic Paint Protectant
Armor All Armor Plate - (Hmmm. Old. Not sure how that one slipped in there! :) )

I do not find the Final Inspection or the Eagle One very easy to remove with good results.

I honestly don't use the Black Magic or Armor All.

The regular Megs QD is a old friend to me, and I'll likely always have a good supply of it.

However,

Lately I find myself reaching for the Four Star Ultimate Gloss Enhancer much more frequently, as it seems to perform better, and faster.

Call me insane, but as I am always looking to try out new things, I'm just wondering if there is any other QD's out there that work just as easy, and just as well as Four Star's UGE?

Usually there is a ton of humidity here, and it is also a fairly dust friendly area of the world. With that in mind, hey, what are your thoughts?

Thanks!

I've been using P&S Paint Shine for some time and love the results. The WG that I got a sample of was really good but $$$. On the humidity I can't comment, I live in CA

I do not find the Final Inspection or the Eagle One very easy to remove with good results.

I recently got some Megs Final Inspection. While I use it mostly as an intermediate QD (for wiping off polishing residue, etc.) I had no problems with removing it when used as a final QD.

Two QDs that really worked well for me are Mother's Showtime and Zaino Z6.

Ahhh............... I love QD's, and have tried a bunch!

Here's a brief summary of "some" that I've used..........

Poorboy's Spray & Wipe - If I could only have one QD, this would be it. Prior to S & W, I had just about given up QD'ing any vehicle with any significant amount of dust/dirt on it. S & W saves me a lot of washing (and polishing out spider web marks :D ) and allows me to keep my vehicles looking better............ longer....... with less work!

4* UGE - A very nice QD indeed. I really like using UGE with sealant based systems, and pretty much always use it prior to a coat of any sealant (like UPP, EX, EX-P, Klasse)

Zaino Z6 - Another excellent QD. Really works great with the Zaino system................. but I won't order it just to buy the QD.

Meguiar's Final Detail - My favorite on dark colored vehicle with a carnauba topper. A very wet, and glossy QD. The new replacement sounds like it is just as good............ we'll see! :D

ClearKote's Quik Shine - Thanks to Marj (awd330), I was able to try this product. In a short period of time, it has become my favorite QD on lighter colored vehicles with either a carnauba, or sealant finish! Very bright/clear/shinny product! It is a little "pricy" though. :(

Wizards Mist & Shine - Another QD that I really love! Very similar to Quik Shine. If I were in the mood to try more Wizards products, I would skip the Quik Shine, and buy the Mist & Shine. Great product.

Adams QD - Still another very nice QD. Seems to have a look somewhere between FD and Quik Shine.

Meguiar's Quick Detailer - A very good "off the shelf" product.

Meguiar's Final Inspection - Another very good product. Prior to Spray & Wipe, I used FI for cleaning/removing residue.

Mothers Showtime - An excellent product. My favorite "off the shelf" product. If I didn't/wouldn't order products online, this would be my QD.

There a bunch of other good ones that I've tried, and a bunch I haven't. Pretty hard to go wrong with most QD's on the market today.

So much for a "brief summary"! :lmfao

:yeah Thanks for saving me the trouble of typing! I haven't tried the Zaino or Wizard's products, but I concur with Boss regarding all the others. :D

Edit: If streaking in high humidity is a problem, I'd stick with Clearkote QuikShine or Poorboy's Spray & Wipe.

I first tried Meg's QD (maroon bottle), and while I liked it I found that it attracted dust. Then switched to PB S & W, and haven't dragged the hose out since Memorial Day! I use PB QD+ every other week (or as needed) & S & W at least once / week.
Funny story, was caught in an AZ dust storm last weekend, and as I watched the dust rolling in on my freshly cleaned CR-V, mentally planned the next day of washing, polishing, etc. Imagine my surprise the next morning when I looked over my car and found VERY LITTLE dust! The many layers of EX-P & QD+ made the dust just slide off as I drove home. Got by with another S & W & QD+ treatment. Go PB!!

Needless to say, I haven't tried any of the others cuz I don't mess with success!

Not to cause a problem and get banned or chastised in some manner, but.........
Meguiar's quick detaler in the maroon bottle is Quik Detailer, no "c" in the spelling.
If you order Meguiar's Quick Detailer, (with the "c"), you will get a fairly aggressive cleaner wax.
You really have to be sure of the correct numbers and names of some of the Meg's line. Several are close, but entirely different products.

Charles is right. In this case, the proper spelling is very important. Meg's Quik Detailer, Quick Detailer, and Quik Wax are 3 completely different types of products. The same is true for Final Detail and Final Inspection.

For me Eagle One Wipe n Shine works the best.I tried many different QD and some gave a higher gloss but required extra buffing to get the streakes out. I just spray Eagle One on and wipe off never any streakes.

Anyone notice I didn't even spell chastised correctly the first time?
:doh
Charles

I didn't! Of course, in this case, I also spelled "Quick Detailer" wrong! :D

I'm staying out of it! The Whaler was the spelling bee champ of his 3rd grade class

I have narrowed my QD's down to those available in gallon size. I used to use the EO QD and liked the results but it is very cost prohibitive. I tried PB's SNW and got hooked, bought a gallon. Then I couldn't pass the killer price of $17 on a gallon of Meg's Last Touch and got a gallon of that. I love them both. They are both easy to use and pretty forgiving of the weather but have different uses in my arsenal. The SNW I use on cars that have sealant on them and the Last Touch on those with carnauba on them.

Buying by the gallon is definitely the cheapest, but you do have to have a need for that much QD.
I do. :D Hey, I've got 3 cars to take care of. ;)

On hand, (gallon size)
Spray & Wipe. Not really a QD, but gets used the most of any.
4 Star UGE. Great QD. Maybe the best I have ever used.
Meguiar's Final Inspection. Another good one.
Meguiar's Final Detail. And yet another good one.
(Are there really any bad ones out there?)
