Quick Detailer's

I was happy with Final Inspection till I tried S & W. Just bought a gallon of S&W. It seems so versatile whether it's humid or sunny etc. I expect to use it a great deal when the weather turns worse this winter.

My $0.02 on Final Inspection...

Having past experience providing the detailing services for new car shows (i.e. LA International, Detroit, New York, Atlanta, etc.) and having worked for the company who did the initial product testing of it (F-I), I can personally attest to the merits of Final Inspection. Here is the breakdown of my experience in using it. Vehicles are brought into the Auto Shows, prepped (i.e. polished, glazed, waxed, etc.), then about every hour throughout the duration of the show, wiped down of dust, carpet lint, and fingerprints. Imagine wiping down a black vehicle 10-12 times a day for 10-14 days straight (the Texas State Fair's auto show is 30 days -- 14 wipe-downs/day). We tried 1000's of waxes from coast to coast and only a couple would hold up to this grueling abuse. Prior to Final Inspection, we used diluted window cleaner or water to aid in the fingerprint removal (we tried many things, these worked best). What a frigin' difference F-I made. It allowed us to perform our services without the removal of wax or glaze and the vehicles remained free of towel scratches and believe it or not, fingerprints were less visible, and the windows would wipe clean. We no longer had to re-wax vehicles after two or three days. F-I is not a detailing wax, nor a polish -- it is formulated for what I described above -- the final wipe-down of a vehicle.

Oops, forgot I have two gallons of FI too. Yes, dr-detail, you are right. It does an amazing job of leaving the car lint/dust free just before delivery.

I use Poorboys S&W for dust (and even light dirt) removal ... It has pretty much eliminated the light marring I used to get when using FI.
I follow up with Final Detail to add a little more gloss and wetness
I also use Final Detail after a wash with great results.
I use FI as a clay lube and to help remove dried on polishes.
