Question about a base detail, not full correction.

Thanks again everyone..

My first detail since I started this thread....

I did NOT bring my halogen lights..

I found 3M swirl remover, not sure of which one at the dealership.

I used my UDM with the 3M. (i left the rotory home) It surely didnt leave the black single stage paint in a very good condition, so i was forced to use FPII to finish.

Interior a quick vacuum, APC on the matts with a brush and then wipe off. APC on the the rest of the interior.

I was out of time so i decided NOT to further clean the wheels to remove any caked on brake dust.

The owner seemed happy, he drove the car out of the shop and onto the lot with no complaints.

Total time 2hours 40 minutes! (Down from 6-8 hours)

A friend of mine who detailed used cars would buff with a wool pad and Auto Magic BC2. The wool pad, BC2 combo left little to no swirls. He would follow with a wax like #26 or Gold Class, and his cars came out great. BC2 would remove some scratches and fill others, and would work very fast. The final wax would seal the gloss in.

1 step rotary with wool eh? Yikes. I'd hate to see the swirls and holograms 4 weeks later.

why not m205 and the 2.0 pad, unless its a soft paint?

another thing that just popped in my head is using the fenix light to check for holograms instead of backing the car out into the sun (of which I did several times yesterday on a Chr 300) what a waste of time, although I dont have a fenix
