"Protected" Leather recommendations

With all of the leather pdorcuts out there I'm confused on what really is good and which is harmful to newer leather seats. Right now I'm using Zaino Z9 leather cleaner and Z10 treatment. How are these products at protecting leather over time? If there's better products that I should be using to help preserve the leather I'd rather know know than later on.
 
Leather cleaners should be foam water based cleaners (no creams, oils, waxes etc.) and leather protectors should be water based fluorochemicals containing no waxes, oils, silicones etc. Conditioners are not necessary as discussed. If you apply these criteria to products you will be on the right lines.

Well, my G37 is relatively new (July), I applied it last week for the first time. I haven't noticed any drastic difference that you mentioned.



Still wondering, does anyone have anything specifically bad to say about Sonus and why?

I just tested some out the other day on our leather sofa. It does smell bad out of the bottle but it's not unbearable by any means. I've read some greatly exaggerated reports from people who claim that it smells like death.



After it dries it actually gives the leather a bit of that new leather smell. I have no complaints about the smell.

FWIW I'm doing OK with the LM stuff, got mine at TOL. Not that I treat my leather interiors on a remotely regular basis.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Maybe I'm cheap, but shipping internationally isn't worth it to me :grinno: And, like you, I don't treat my leather all too regularly...monthly Woolite wipe downs and an occasional spritz of OLP has been working great for me.

But yeah...I dunno about doing the across-the-pond thing over some leather treatment that we hardly ever use anyhow.
 
Ive stopped using conditioners on coated leathers. But I have one question, why does the leather feel softer after using a conditioner?

So Optimum Protectant Plus wouldnt be a good choice for leather since it contains "penetrating oils"?
 
It's not the leather itself that feels softer, probably just the product sitting on top of it. Kinda like paint when it feels soft and slick, it's not the paint that's giving you the feel, it's the topper.

100% correct.
 
Here int he states it is LM. I would caution purchasing things that are from out side the us as a mobile detailer. It is not likely that you will be able to get an msds sheet to carry with you on your truck.
