Are there sealants, waxes, etc. that make the alloy wheels easier to clean. I spend almost as much time cleaning the wheels on the Audi as washing the rest of the car.
IMHO the manufacturers don't put enough clear coat on the wheels to begin with. I had some motorcycle wheels repainted and heavily cleared.....much easier to clean with the heavy clear coat. They also should figure out how to create a clear coat that is less porous, and thus brake dust won't stick to it as easily.
When I bought my LS, it had factory chrome wheels on it, which I didn't like. Salesman told me to live with them for three months, and then if I still didn't like them, they would exchange them and give me some credit. When I realized that brake dust didn't adhere to the chrome....I decided to like them.
I would like to make life easier with some product that would help reduce brake dust from the wheel and or make it easier to clean off.
