you've gotta be kdding me... paranoid much? hahaha... this thread was definitely good for a mediocre laugh. go on w/ your bad self and try to get a mfg to change their ways. The production lines would need to be altered. It isn't just the added cost of the actual material used for sealing... it's also for the machines required to do this task... maintenance, added space, etc. Can't believe this is going on for this long haha.

Does your position only include local products (for instance- Walmart, Autozone, etc) or do you also have concerns with mail order products? What about products that can be bought company direct and do not have seals (Zaino, Poorboy's, Clearkote, Optimum, Chemical Guys)?



If that would bother you, then surely you wouldn't but these same unsealed products that can be bought from a distributor (Specialty Motoring, Autogeek, Pak Shak) correct? If you would buy direct from the maker (without a seal), do you have trust issues with the distributors?
 
Finally!!! The answer as to why people get different results with the same products! It's not different environments, different paint, different prep, different techniques...it's that some of the products HAVE BEEN TAMPERED WITH!!!! I demand a congressional investigation! Seals for all products! Veni, vedi, vici! Thank you, Shubba.

Not really. Most manufacturers already do seal most of their products (for good reasons, as I've indicated). It is trivial to change their designs to enable them to seal ALL of their product lines.

Hmm as of right now 43% don't care at all, only 12% say they wouldn't buy a product without a seal. The rest may care but, your poll options are too vague as to whether they care enough to not buy the product anyway. Give it time, those of us who don't give a rats arse will get past the 50% mark.

I'd be more likely to buy unsealed products via mail order, but the same issue of returns exist, and one wonders why companies would send unsealed liquids by mail!

People like you are the reason why manufacturers have dropped the quality standards on so many fronts nowadays. It's a rush to the bottom, using cheap Asian labor to churn out junky, ultra-cheap products in sweatshops for undiscriminating and easily pleased Homer Simpson-like consumers. D'oh!

Well I have had products leak on me in the mail, but they were replaced without question. As far as the issues with return, I still don't grasp your concern! If you sent a bottle of polish back to the maker for a return, sure they could just refill and re-seal it if they wanted. A reputable company who wants to stick around in this business probably would just throw it in the trash and move on (or maybe test it to see if was a defect batch).



Then it turns into an issue of trusting the maker rather than trusting that it is sealed.

Bryan, you miss the point. An unsealed product can be mailed out, adulterated, then mailed back for full refund, then resold. Sure, does not happen a lot, but my experience with buying via the 'net in recent years is that quite a lot of stuff gets sent back and then re-sold. I've had electronic and camera equipment sold to me that was clearly sold before, as I could tell from the state of the cables, etc.

I see you have reading comprehension problems. Labor is cheap in Asia. Is that a racist statement? Discuss. Cheap and junky product are produced in Asia (as are very high quality products). Is that a racist statement? NEXT.
 
Man, you have a lot of bad luck buying things, Shubba. I don't want to alarm you, but I've heard that some people, while they are out, have their residence broken into and all their belongings replaced with exact duplicates. This could have happened to you or me! That computer you are typing on might not really be yours! Sorry if I ruined your day.
