Yeah I only buy a ticket when it's over $200m. I bought 5 tickets today. One could argue it's money down the drain, but I've easily had $10 worth of fun thinking about what I'd do with it.
 
Yup, nothing wrong with giving such an amount of money a shot. I might pick up a few tickets tomorrow . I had a co worker that played the lottery every time for 14 years ,and never hit the big prize...I felt bad for him for trying so much and not getting it.
 
When i was a little kid i asked dad if we hit the lottery could we get a boat? He was like maybe... well see. Aka no, so then i said how about if we win the lotto twice then can we get a boat. He just lauged and said probably... I think that would be ok. So the other day i told him if i were to win this i think i could get a boat off just this one lottery. Of course i still havent bought a ticket. I might cave tommorow. Or hope everyone misses again and it goes to 1000 millon. Then i definitely could get a boat. A nice kyack or something. :D good luck everyone.

The best way if you win is to make a copy and put the original in a safe deposit box, telling no one. Secure an attorney and a financial advisor. Line up a new residence and new phone # elsewhere, along with a new identity. Once everything is in place. Turn in the ticket, do the press conference and then have your attorney escort you out the back door to a car, where youre taken to a private plane off to your new home with a new name, never to be heard from again.
 
When people win these big prizes, do they HAVE to do a press conference and be announced in public? honest question. I would hope that it would be up to the winner instead of being forced to show the world that you just got all that money.

I would also keep it extremely quiet and not even quit my job right away. I'd wait a little bit before doing that to not draw attention.

It depends on the state. Some require it, some dont.
 
Maryland lets winners remain anonymous, if I'm so lucky enough to win no one would ever know. I probably wouldn't even tell my parents or brothers, they all have big mouths
