Popular products that didn't work out for you

Zaino CS- Although I like the Z-5 pro, I just do not find this product works as described.

ZAIO- I like this product. I think it works well, I just greatly prefer Klasse AIO.

Megs-#16-Let me say that I really do like this product, I can just not tell the difference between this and the one that is still available. I think the hype is because you cant get it anymore.

Because there's nothing to dislike about those products, seriously.

I agree completely. How can you fault products that are easily available (some locally), relatively cheap, very durable and protective, look great, and are easy to use? I can't. Are DG products my holy grail....no, but they offer everything I'm looking for in an inexpensive and easily attainable package.

I could name several products (mostly LSPs) that failed to meet expectations, mostly on the durability side. Wolfgang, UPP, OCW, Meguiar's, etc etc... I think it's pretty easy to make products that look good in the short term, but much harder to make them look good and protect in the long term. That's what separates the winners from the losers in my book.

Last summer I got into detailing. My first big purchase was a PC, ton of LC pads and WG. I think WG clay is good and the sealant has lasted pretty good on the cars I've done. The rest of the line is nothing special and way overpriced for what they do. But, Duragloss - for all the reasons TigerMike and Nimble mentioned above - is way above average. I'm trying more and more of their products and have been impressed.

Honestly, take this for what it's worth (an opinion), but DG 105 BLOWS away, Zaino, WGS, UPP, DPSS, all other sealants. It looks better, is easy to use, cheap as heck, and lasts. Oh yeah, it smells good too. ;)

Very subjective, thanks for pointing out that it is an opinion. I agree with you, but I do prefer FMJ to DG 105.

Well, I'm gonna chime in my $.02 here. DG #105 is a fantastic sealant, so is AW. I use them both on almost a daily basis. They are not, however, the end all of products. Seems like some members on this board are just as defensive when people say one wrong thing about DG than the other members on this board that do the same thing b/c of Zaino. Yall guys gotta chill, peoples have their own opinions.

Anyway, things that did not meet my expectations, Z-8, VM, IP, and Carnauba Jett.

No one is having issues where they need to chill, thanks moderator in training though, we'll jot that down. :sosad

Yeah, as subjective as your FMJ opinion. We all like what we like. Main reason I like 105 is how well it works for the money. Show me a sealant that looks better and I'll at least give it that, but it still won't be as cost efective. :nervous2:

IP was sort of a let down for me. TOL Bubble bath takes too much solution and takes too much refilling throughout the wash to maintain slickness/suds. I wish EX-P would last longer, but it does look KILLER over VM, even though that combo is sorta old school. Other than that, I am very happy with all of my purchases.

Heh heh, I find it a little interesting that this thread hasn't devolved into a flameout and been locked down. Gee, hope I didn't just jinx it

..I do find it fascinating that none of the Optimum products are on this list--must really be good stuff, or they're just not as widely used as others.

I'm not a huge fan of OP. Nothing really wrong with it but I don't always get as nice a finish as I'd expect. I readily admit it's probably just user-error as I haven't used it all that much...but you gotta really *work* the stuff and if you use too much you'll have problems. There are other products that simply don't give me problems (or at least not the same ones) so for *me* the jury is still out on OP. Yeah yeah...I'm probably the only person here who feels this way about it :nixweiss

I was honest to God saying thank you for pointing out that it was "your opinion". Rather than saying it was "the end all be all"...Relax.

I'm beginning to wonder about the No Rinse when diluted and used as a Q/D'er. I find it leaves a film that I have to go over with a completely clean and dry MF to remove.

Really? What ratio are you using? Only reason I am asking is because I have recently switched to this, and have had no problems like that.

Accumulator - I second your opinion on Optimum Polish. I tried it and wasn't all that impressed with it. I still prefer my SSRs, even though they dust more.

The recommended 6oz to 1-gal distilled water.

a couple that I did not care for were.

OCW

Blackfire wet diamond sealant(looked great, but lost its durability and glow after 3-4 weeks)

wolfgang glaze and wolfgang sealant (looked great for 2 washes, glaze was oily) a product with a lot of hype and I was dissapointed and sad
