PoorBoys Natural Look - Lazy Mans Interior Protectant

If your like me - you hate detailing the inside of a car. I mean, you have plastic, vinyl, rubber, and leather. Usually, I would clean all these surfaces using various cleaners, including something different (and a different "tool") to clean leather seats.

Then it's time for "protection". Usually, I would use like 4 different products: some type of leather protectant for seats, some type of plastic sealant (UIG+) for plastics, 1Z stuff for the rubber seals, and interior dressing for other surfaces. A bunch of towels, brushes, and products....

It's like a half a day project. I used to get out all type of products, towels and brushes to clean - and various applicators to apply dressing & protectants. I even have little foam Q-Tips For vents.

Well, forget it. If your interior is somewhat clean, and you don't have the motivation or time to go all through this stuff - I have a solution:

So, I've had this product sitting on my shelf for years. I used it on tires - and it wasn't shiny enough for me. But, I went out to clean and protect my seats and saw it sitting there.

I read the label..... Says it cleans, protects, and provides UV protection in 1 step. It says it's not greasy and it doesn't look greasy.

So, I decided I would give it a try. It's blue and has the Pina Colada smell. The bottle is several years old - but the product works like it was just mixed.

Perfect. I used it on everything with one MF towel. I went out to just do the seats - but this stuff was so EZ - I kept going... If you have a black interior - this stuff makes it look BLACK.

It left everything looking just right - no cleaning required before hand. No applicators. No buffing down after... Just get a towel and rub it in.

After use, my hands aren't greasy and leaving finger prints on everything I touch.

So, I'm telling you, if you have a car that doesn't get filthy dirty on the inside - this stuff is all you need. Just get a MF towel and start rubbing it on everything. Takes like 1/2 hr to do your interior - clean and protect. Leaves a satin look and feel behind. The surface looks somewhat "dressed"; just not greasy or sticky.

I will be getting a big bottle of this stuff.

I took some sucky iPhone pics, but it doesn't really do this stuff justice:

I've heard this is really great stuff! Once I use up my 303, I'll prob get this next. That said, I'll only use PBL on my car.

Steve at Poorboys has me using both Leather Stuff and NL now.
It won't clean as well as NL but if your interior isn't trashed the smell of leather and matte finish can't be beat.
A recent post Steve explained how it also feeds the stitching.

Looks very nice, not too much shine. I'm still trying to use up my Pinnacle Interior Protectant, but that shine looks better than Pinnacle.

I've used this for my interior for the past couple of years, and it's great. I alternate with 303, but I like the look of PB a little bit more.

Been using Meguiars Natural Shine.....been very happy with it.....maybe I'll give this stuff a try when that runs out

Yes, PB's stuff is pretty great. I think that company has the ability to dominate the "boutique" detailing industry - they just need to keep a bit of a sharper cutting edge.

If I ran PB's I'd make some changes and come out with some new products:

1. A coating. Something easy to use where you get multiple applications per bottle. Very good beading. It doesn't have to last 10 years - but people wanna see tight beads.

2. Make Black Hole and White Diamond AIO type prep products. The day of using a "glaze" after a decon are done. Figure out how to keep the same super slick glaze with the ability to clean paint (some mild abrasives that don't micro mar) and strip off old LSPs. Look at Prima Amigo.

3. Re-vamp their polish line. I dunno if their polishes are good - but nobody on the forums seems to use them any more. Do something with the line so it's "reformulated for long throw polishers"

4. Come out with a rinseless wash.

5. Make their waterless wash & APC available as concentrates. A lot of people won't buy this stuff, simply because it's RTU and that makes it expensive. It's so much cheaper just not to ship the water.

... Anyway, this is off the top of my head. If PB's has done any of this stuff recently - that is good. Maybe it just didn't filter down to the likes of me yet.

Fantastic review on a interesting product. I have used DP interior surface protectant for years. Now Mckess. I like the fact it has a mild cleaner in it also. I apply it with a blue foam applicator. I have a new bottle of the Mckees waiting in the wings.

I have used Leather Stuff. Is there a side by side of National Look vs original (no treatment)?

We looked into coatings and basically it is not for the general public as much as for "Real Car people" .. the market is now getting flooded and most are being made by the same people .. just different names ... We will look into it though ;)

We have those already .. Polish w/ Carnauba and Polish w/ Carnauba Blue do that, but for people looking for the best results, each step should be separate and not sacrifice even a little to do another job.

3. Re-vamp their polish line. I dunno if their polishes are good - but nobody on the forums seems to use them any more. Do something with the line so it's "reformulated for long throw polishers"

Even though our polishes are not talked about much on "the forums" , we sell a ton of them around the world. Not sure if everyone realizes we are a global company with distribution in 41 countries and we have to fill the needs of the many who do not have access to high end machines and we also sell to a lot of body shops (Master Cut, SSR's, Pro Polish and Pro Polish 2)
We are working on some new polishes that of course will be Beta tested in the near future ;)

4. Come out with a rinseless wash.

We passed on this idea as Spray and Wipe does a better job and is more efficient .. No Buckets, No Mess, and you can go straight to polishing with no water leaking out of jambs, door handles and mirrors etc... Spray and Wipe can also be used in direct sun without worrying about it drying too fast.

5. Make their waterless wash & APC available as concentrates. A lot of people won't buy this stuff, simply because it's RTU and that makes it expensive. It's so much cheaper just not to ship the water.

APC is a concentrate ..most uses require 15:1 use ...so it goes a long long way ...
Spray and Wipe does not work as a concentrate ... we process our water 3 times and most people will never get the same results with their home water ... we sell a lot of S&W around the world as a RTU .. (currently working on 90 cases of gallons order)

... Anyway, this is off the top of my head. If PB's has done any of this stuff recently - that is good. Maybe it just didn't filter down to the likes of me yet.

We appreciate the feedback and encourage people to do the same ... we grew from 5 products to over 40+ trying to meet the needs of our customers :)

Not to be a snide, but which are these "most"?

I think there will always be a market for glazes. How long has Meg's M07 been around? Forever. And if Black Hole or White Diamond ever get discontinued.....well, let's just not go there.

#3 - A short while ago when going thru as much Poorboy's World site as I could, I was shocked/impressed when I saw just how global Porrboys is! Like, whoa.

Poorboy, I'm available for Beta Testing. Just saying ^_^
