I'm not sure I see the point of where this is going...Danase I believe freely admits that the products that have his name on them are formulated to his specification by CG's, while Pb's and Adam deny any relationship. I think we've been around this subject a bunch of times, who has their own manufacturing plant other than Meguiar's (and who's to say they manufacture all of their products)? Perhaps some of the other mass-produced products, and IIRC after the consistency problem with Optimum polishes they moved some of that mfg. in-house. In the end some of the highest performing and most respected products are not manufactured directly by the "seller", so does it really matter who/where it's manufactured? Does Sears Kenmore make their own appliances? No.



If the price and the performance is satisfactory to you, than that is all that should matter. There are fewer mfrs. for everything than we realize.
 
I agree with Mike. I do know for sure that Meguiars, Optimum and Clearkote make the majority of their products in-house but even Meguiars farmed out the production of their line of brushes. What should matter is that you are getting a high quality product at a price you feel is fair.
 
I should've clarified that I didn't mean to imply that Danase hides the fact that their house brand is supplied by CG; they openly advertise that, actually, and I see nothing wrong with that.

It is simple economics. Do what you do best (Formulate and market products), and pay for the rest (manufacturing). The opportunity cost would be far too great for each company to manufacture their own products. If company A formulated a great product but had no manufacturing capabilities, it would take up too much of their time to manufacture even a few batches. It is cheaper for company A, and the consumer, if another company is paid to manufacture the product. Company A's time is better spent developing and formulating products as opposed to manufacturing them.
