Polishing heavily spotted glass

Hello all- it's been a while since I have been on here, and I have a new screen name (my old one was Xtreme V6).

Anyways, my g/f just got a '96 Camaro that was not very well kept. The glass is about the worse I have ever seen. Yesterday, I started off by:

1)I cleaned the glass with my mixture of water/alcohol/vinegar

2)Then straight to vinegar

3)I then clayed

4)I used Autoglym Glass Polish by hand

5)I then got creative and used Meguiar's #2 by hand

6)I then pulled out the DeWalt 849 and a white pad along with more of the Meguiar's #2. This seemed to work *pretty* good. I did this 3 times to each section.

I am still not satisfied :(. I just found my pad kit that came with the glass polishing kit from CMA- so I will try Autoglym out again. A friend is going to let me try his Zaino #12. Does anybody have anymore suggestions?

I had a spotted film on the exterior of my factory tinted glass that nothing really touched till I used 0000# steel wool and Autoglym Glass Polish. Worked great but it took a couple of applications since this film had been building up on the windows for the last 6 years. Now I just clean with glass cleaner and polish monthly. It was difficult to get good photos of the before and after's but it was amazing, the glass is like new now and is super-slick.

NOTE TO THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW: DON'T USE STEEL WOOL ON AFTERMARKET TINTED WINDOWS!

Mr. Clean- I am wanting to try Zaino on a small section, if I am happy, I will buy a bottle. BTW, it is a 3.8 automatic. She just started drving, so she doesn't need anything too powerful. Plus I have an 02 Z28 heavily modified.

Macgirl- Thanks for the post, I will try the #0000 steel wool along with some Autoglym tonight. I have a bunch of the marks removed, so it shouldn't be too bad.

My buddy has a 96 bird 3.8.... we swapped out the open rear 3.08 gears for a disk brake posi unit with 3.23's. Not a hard job and worth it. His 96 was such a dog, a real dog... My old 2.8 V6 camaro blew it away.

Yeah, my g/f wants to make go faster. If I get a 9" or 12-bolt for my car, I'll put my rear with 3.42 gears and the Zexel Torsen locker. I plan on cold air induction and cat-back soon. Maybe headers and cam if I get real ambitous.

I'll post pics of our cars once I get done with a bunch of projects.

Dagnabit... We cant find any 0000 steel wool here in Manila hehe... Can you believe that I actually import $5 worth of steel wool and $10 worth of plastic razors hehehe...
