Did a test spot with a regular polish the client had.

I need a good aluminum polish and pads. The client said she`d pay for what`s needed. I need some recommendations.

I wish I could help you out but what you did looks pretty good. Sticking with what you used a possibility?

our Aluminum and Metal Polish will make quick work of that .. I would use Foamed Wool pads

Go with Poorboy`s as I believe it can be used in the sun. But what ever you do do over the whole thing. If you go with a course the a fine compound in on spot you will have to do over the whole thing

It`s going to be a one step. We`re looking at $300-400 or so

If it`s going to be a one step you are not going to highly polish aluminum .. PwC is used by many boat and RV detailers and it`s easy in the sun

What pads should be used with this?

if you are only going to make one pass at it , I wouldn`t get too abrasive or you will leave marring .. either a polishing pad or finessing pad should do

i think he said the owner would purchase products and pads

Yup you`re right. Even still, $300-$400 to do an entire RV seems way too low - that`s a heck of a lot of real estate. Maybe some of the pro`s can chime in on this one.

I wouldn`t do a van for that much let alone a RV :notme:

I agree. I have done our 32` Fiberglass a few times and compounding then LSP is a lengthy job. The real estate alone is in the 920ish square feet along with the 10-12 foot height`s.

$10 a foot for one step not enough?

Anyway, open box sale on 21 MK 2 For $300 I have a HF tool. I was thinking I should buy it

So 30`=300.00 ?. Aluminum is nasty stuff to polish for me as everything turns black and nasty. I personally would not touch it for that but they probably would not pay what I would want. Working with Aluminum is a constant pad change/cleaning because of the black mess. What is the length of the RV ?.

like 32ft. Also I`m not doing the top. Just up to that line. So maybe $350 for that and a sealant? Also will megs synthetic sealant work or do I need one of those specifically for metal sealants?

Here`s what I have in mind....

A bottle of PB aluminum polish (first time trying PB products!!) for a 32 ft will one be enough? I think so.
Get the open box RUPES 21 MK 11
A pack of Rupes 7 inch yellow pads (it says the 7 in are for the 21 but it has a 6in BP??) should I get yellow or green?
Use my Costco towels to get destroyed in the process of this polishing.
Oh and buy like 3 rolls of fat CarPro tape so I don`t have to deplete my own supply.

I`m going to make an epic thread about the project as well.
