Polishing an aluminum RV

I saw foam backed wool pad during this thread. I would tend to take this recommendation. As for the quantity of product I guess it depends on how well it cleans up.

So 30`=300.00 ?. Aluminum is nasty stuff to polish for me as everything turns black and nasty... Working with Aluminum is a constant pad change/cleaning because of the black mess.

+1. I helped my brother-in-law polish his aluminum fishing boat once - what a mess that process was. You may want to try out P21S metal polishing soap on the RV. We had very good luck with it on his boat`s haul.

I use NuVite for metal polishing, it smells terrible, and its a super dirty job... but results are good, use NuVite "C" for a one step, it should look real good, but usually you want to do 2 steps minimal, or ideally 3 steps... YMMV. I used it for a few things and recommended it to the company I work for... for use in touching up parts prior to shipment, many parts gets scuffed when assembling. (I work for a luxury lighting company, so plenty of metals that gotta be plenty shiny to send to rich customers..)... I know a few guys that swear by that brand and they do Aircrafts and RVs...

Back at my old job I did some R&D work in the glass and metal polishing industry.

wool pad on rotary.

get a respirator, and a lot of old clothes

also wrap your whole head with a towel or you will have black crap all over you.

Way too cheap for the job @ 300 dollars IMO. I wouldnt touch aluminum for under 15 per foot, and I`d want 20-25 at least... but that`s just me.

For more info on this type of polishing you could also look into DC Super Shine. That guy is doing metal polishing all the time and making it look like a mirror. He`s using a rotary and a buffing wheel though.

I can`t comment to much on price, but I do know a good friend of mine had an RV done at a professional shop we have here in Oregon before I started detailing. They charged him I believe is was 1200 to polish outside as well as put a wax on it

dcsupershine
also offers the product i am talking about :) i would link but dont want to potentially break rules.

I like this Idea, P21S about 11$, and you would be cleaning as you go.

When ordering..
Uro-Tec is longthrow,

Uro- Cell is not.

Good Luck Mr. Slick

Here`s the plan:

PB Aluminum polish
Uro tech pads using the long throw of the Rupes 21

protection ?

wheels polished and tires dressed of coarse.

This client is open. I can schedule other cars (my next 3-4 days are booked) and work on this as I have time.
