Pics of your shops?

I'm graduating with my masters in social sciences in July. Basically right now I don't have the time to take half the jobs I have calls for so I take care of my clients I've been working for since I started in 03. A friend of mine wants to look into getting into detailing with me when I'm done and we're looking at possibly getting a set location. I'm just looking to see what your shops look like. It's definitely something I have the passion for and going for my PhD right now is not going to happen. Thanks in advance guys!

Like the look of your shop there John...especially on whats inside :)



Mine is in my avatar. A few changes since it was taken, but more or less the same. We're in the prlimary negotiations for a shop that can accomodate 4 cars plus office and lounge space. In a few weeks, we will also be receving our mobile "shop" from the EZ-Up company. I'll post pics.

This was before moving in and cleaning it up. I need to take more pics of it once I get organized. This is just the warehouse for storing cars and parts, it's down .8 miles of dirt road, so I still detail out of my house.
 
ever thought about splitting the cost of the paved road from your shop to the hwy with the city...would be good publicity and probably get more traffic and business for you since driving down a dirt road would probably deter most people
 
My contractor has a PhD- depends on the job. As my dad always said, "If you want to be a janitor, go for it! Just be the best one possible and love your job!"



Business with a friend is the only hesitation I had reading your post- how many did that and ended up friends?

Thanks. I went with a 10 foot door and was kind of hesitant, thinking maybe I should have gone for 12 feet instead, but that would have been a real killer on the winter heating bill.

chad, I love the garage setup! Soon as I get a house, I am revamping the garage asap!



Mike, I like the setup you have going on as well! Is that sand separator an addition of yours, or was it already there?

Are you talking about the floor drains? If yes, those were already there. The one long one in the detail area and the square one in the wash bay both run into a dry pit. The building was originally built to be a paint shop/booth a few decades ago so the plumbing standards weren't real high :lol

Thanks Eric! Unfortunately I will be renting out my house after my wedding this June and will likely not have use of the shop anymore. :(
