*PICS*New thought on Armor all

I was bored yesterday so I decided to wash my Silver S4. I washed it with QEW and when I was done I realized that all I had in my trunk was Armor All for the tires!!!!! I dont like this product at all except for wheel wells because it is cheap and covers the wells in a cost effective manner. I decided to use it as my tire dressing. It left a nice satin shine when I applied using a generic househould damp sponge. I sprayed the sponge with the AA and then applied to tires. I drove away a few minutes later and noticed no sling whatsoever. I was surprised that the shine on the tires wasn't a shiny silicon mess, but a nice low-sheen finish. I still would not use it on interiors or trim but I may reconsider it on tires.

Looks good. IIRC, I think armor all has been reformulated and is not silicone based. I think it might be water based now, and a little bit better of a product.

Interesting for sure.

No offense intended but your tires look way too small/narrow for those wheels. Is that the case or just the way it looks in the pic?

Yep, no worry with the white, water based AA, It's the clear stuff, including a slew of other brands to avoid.

I did not know it had been reformulated.

Bob- The tires are 235-40 and the width of the wheels is 8" It does look that way but when viewed from rear straight on they have great sidewall protection, and the rims dont come out further than the tires.

looks good

i have the same tires on my car, but they dont look like that, they are even with the rim. And those are Racing Hart rims

The rims I bought are 18s and I bought them at Edgeracing.com the are Flik Artic's. Thanks for the kind words, it is still in the process of getting to be perfect, but some minor body work needs to be done prior pampering!

I remember reading about it a few months ago. Seems like they decided to make it a water-based product now. I bought some after I heard that, so I am assuming I have the newer stuff. I wouldn't really know what to tell you to look for though.

I think this may be the "new" AA.

I don't know about that one. The stuff I am talking about is in the regular white bottle and has the white liquid in it, although that might be water based also.

Armor All was milky white before they supposedly reformulated it. I don't know if you can really tell by looking at the color or not. I am really trying to find some info (that's not complete garbage) on the supposed reformulation, but still no luck. Oh well....it's not that big a deal anyway.

I think the reformulation took place some time ago. Not that big a deal. If you are interested in the PDMS dressings, there's a nice selection available both locally and online. In addition to AA, I'd experiment with offerings from Megs, Vinylex, One Grand, Zaino, the big suppliers like Auto Magic, Pro, etc
