Just a couple of questions for you guys out there... After much debating, I've finally justified purchasing the PC polisher!
Anyway, I've been driving a Silver 2000 VW Passat and currently use the Meguiar's Medallion product as my primary source of paint protection. The car has received a fresh coat, by hand, every 6 months. To make a long story short, I'm confused with machine polishing. Although I have not done this in the 2 years I've owned the car, I understand that one should polish a vehicle prior to waxing. This will be the first thing I do (after washing and claying) once the PC arrives! From what I have read on this EXCELLENT site, the PC will do a fine job. Having said this, I'm confused when it comes to waxing... I only know of waxing a vehicle by hand, so I think of applying the wax to the car, waiting for it to haze, and then buffing it off. Can I both apply AND remove a liquid or paste wax with the PC? If so, what are the proper steps for waxing? Do you just apply the wax to the pad and buff it into the surface until it breaks down and dissappears? Or, do you apply it by hand, let it haze, and then buff it out with the PC? Or do you only apply and remove waxes by hand? I was considering trying the Pinnacle Paste Glaz and it almost seems as if you apply and remove it by hand? I'm sure this is not a difficult thing to understand, I just want to make sure I have all of my facts straight before taking the PC to the car's finish! Thanks for your help in advance!
