I think I know what the problem is, but just curious on others thoughts. I washed the car on Sunday and noticed some etching on the hood. Since I was out of SSR1 (I really need to do a full polish one day, it has been over a year :redface
, I pulled out my bottle of PwS since it looked minor. Hit the hood with a LC white polishing pad and the PwS. Helped some, but not enough, so I pulled out the yellow pad to be a little more aggressive. I was looking for a one-step at the time since it was getting late and just before dinner. Polished the whole hood with the yellow pad and PwS (stills needs work though, might have to get the SSR2 out) and called it a night.
So it rained hard this morning while I was getting ready for work. Went out to the car (stopped raining by then), and the hood had absolutely no beading. The rest of the car (which had not been polished) was beading nicely.
I think the problem is with the pad and that I was doing more polishing and not really laying down any sealant. Does that sound right? Is PwS pad dependent, and if so, how just the "polish" compare to the SSR's? Less or more aggressive than SSR1?
I was going to go home after work today and spray some Aquawax on the hood, but it has alrady started to rain again
Thanks,
Neil
