I know some of you Southern folk have done a detail or two in the last two weeks. Make sure you get your entries in for this great opportunity to win some outstanding products!

My car has SS paint so it has alot of oxidization on it. No swirls or anything could I show pics of getting rid of the oxidization??

Sounds good to me.

I have decided to move this thread into the Detailing Showcase Forum.

Looking forward to some great pictures.

Looks good budman. :bigups

Just a reminder for everyone. We want to see the product in the picture, either being used or displayed with the finished work.

Troy,
I obviously did this transformation not knowing about this contest. Should I go ahead and take pictures of the products used even though its been some time now? And add them to my post?

Sorry I must have missed this question. No need to take pics of just the products. We are really looking for pictures of product as it is being used or displayed with the finished work.

I was hoping these contest would get more action. I hope you all aren't forgeting about them.

Sounds good. I am really surprised also this thread is not jumping. good for me though, it might mean I will win. :yay

I am doing another car soon, so I will make sure to have pictures for that one.

Here are some pictures that I would like to share with DC members. These are of my Father's cars that we worked on recently to prepare for the upcoming show season. Sorry for the picture quality. I have plenty to learn about picture taking.

Both cars suffered from dry wiping/dusting at car shows and a lack of maintenance last season due to health reasons.

Poorboy's products were used on the paint and trim. S&W - Mega Towels - PwS and Trim Restorer Enjoy.

I might have to get my butt outside and detail the GP. It hasn't been touch in a while and pollen season hasn't done it any favors. I was waiting for the pollen to fully subside before detailing it, but I think I could find time now.

Well...with so many of you experienced and professional detailers...my chances are slim, but here's my entry...

Here's a link to my original thread where I posted the whole story and all the details...

http://www.detailcity.org/forums/de...6-our-2001-gt-gets-long-overdue-detailin.html

Here's a brief description of what I did...
- washed with NXT
- claybarred entire car
- SSR2 over certain bad spots
- SSR1 over entire car
- PB EX over entire car

The total process took me about 6 hours..but I'm a newbie and this is only the second car I've used my PC on.

Here are some before and after pics of our Zinc Yellow 2001 Mustang GT...

Thanks to everyone here who encouraged me and gave me tips and advice...I appreciate it. Even if I don't win, I've got a shiny car that I'm super proud of!!

:thanks

FYI...the custom mods are: H&R 1.5" Springs, Flowmaster exhaust, MAC cold air intake, tinted glass, Cervini's Stalker hood, Cobra R replica wheels on Riken tires...custom painted interior and much more...

Well I have been wanting to get this done for my sister for some time now with my new products and tools. A little background. My sister never takes care of her car let alone wash it. I asked her when the last time it was she washed it and she said sometime early last year. The hood was "polished" by my stepdad with a product that obviously didn't work to well. Thanks for looking, hopefully this might be the winner.

Process:
Wash: Meguiars Gold Class (love the smell)
Didn't even dry it because all of the water was abosrbed by the paint
Clay: Meguiars Smooth Surface clay kit
Wiped down with a 50/50 solution to get any other dirt/clay residue off
Polish: Xmt#3 then XMT#1
Wiped again to have a clean surface for Sealant/Wax
Sealant: Danase Paint Sealant
Wax: Liquid Souveran

Ok on to the pictures........

Well since time is running out and I just picked up a Brinkmann Dual Xenon light, I decided to do some paint perfecting for this contest.

The paint is on a 1998 Jeep Wrangler, and all work was done via PC and LC 7.5" polishing pads. I'll cut to the chase and post the pictures.

First up is the top of the door-

Next up was the bottom of the door which recieves a lot of abuse from shoes and other junk. It is very beat up and this doesn't represent a perfect finish, but I thought it'd only be fair to post it
