Pads

Do you guys like the CCS Lake Country pads with the grooves or do you like the standard flat pad? Which one do you guys think works better?

Thanks, Will

On the rotary, I prefer the flat pads myself as I find the flow just a little better than the CCS pads with the little holes in them. BUt that just a personal preference for me, I'm sure others will prefer the CCS design.

I have noticed occasionally with some products on the PC that it can get sucked up into the holed and clump there, caking and then spitting out in chunks - as if you've overloaded the pad, but this is with minimal amounts of product applied.

I like the flat pads better on the PC personally. I experienced what dave is talking about with several different products, and definitely not using too much. From what I've read, they seem to get a little better review with rotary users.. I ordered a few of the 7.5" CCS pads last week for that, but haven't got to use them yet because the Makita hasn't arrived. I'm hoping I like them a little bit better.

I really don't understand the whole concept of the holes in the CCS pads, they really do nothing for me. With that said, 5" LC CCS pads from Danase and either a PC or UDM is all I use. HIGHLY reccommended.

They're supposed to help keep polish out of the pad and keep it on the surface you're working on. The cells in the holes are closed so that it cant soak polish up.
