Other household uses for your Detailing supplies?

I thought I might get a thread started on what other household uses we have found for our detaling supplies. To get things started:

Some years ago I had some white lacquer bedroom furniture (don't ask), which I used to polish with FinishFirst. All I can say is smooooothhh.

I use a lot of the FK anti-static products on glass and other surfaces around the house too.

Please let us know your alternate uses!

I have found that MF's come in handy everywhere.

not just for cleaning either.

Pillows

Underwear

Toilet Paper

etc.

Welcome to Autopia JeffV! :woot:

This has been discussed often in the past.

One popular item that I recall many of us using is AIO on shower walls and doors.

I tried Rain-X on 1/4 on one of my bathroom sinks after cleaning... I guess it can't stand up to "harsh" handsoaps and such... wasn't noticeably cleaner after a week. Was dirty as much as the rest of the sink.

Tried Rain-X on the mirrors... don't ask why heh. Obviously not much of a difference, but there are streaks... I guess it doesn't work too well on mirror glass, eh?

Anyways, I have been trying to get the super embedded water spots out of the shower door. A defective Lime-A-Away bottle can only do so much when combined with a mr. clean magic eraser (and my lungs can only take so much sulfuric acid...). Not sure what I'll try next. Bon Ami, perhaps?

Then I'll seal the shower doors with something... maybe AIO to keep the water from spotting so hard :D

the wife has all new appliances in kitchen (black) and they have a few coats of nattys blue on them now. and gets a shot of s&g now and then for a touch up....

she is amazed @ the way they shine.. lol

twitch - Thanks for the welcome!

jsatek - Agree 100% FK 425 on electronic equip dramtically reduces dust accumulation.

I dont know where to start... lol

I have done the following:

polishes and sealed the entire kitchen floor and counters.

I have used stoners and a blue pad for windows.

I use my PC scrub brush and woolite on the carpets...

I have also sealed the bathroom showers and sinks.

I have had my PC taken away by mother :( SHe accused it of doing more work than me!

I got it back and then sealed the counters [monthly]

Im going to stop there so I have some dignity in tact! :p

I recently used the PC and an old orange propel pad to clean a friends glass stovetop.

This thing had layers of burnt on junk, and was completely nasty. The PC plus some of the stovetop cleaning stuff (which is just an abrasive polish) took care of it in about 5 minutes. Looked good as new.

Have used the PC and SSR to get permanent marker out of tabletops, and also to get some scuff marks out of a grand piano.

I use RDF Spray Sealant or Z8 on my phone screen/iPod/Computer screen

I've used the cyclo carpet attachments on my carpet in my room to try and get a pop stain out...oopsie :)

I use Aquawax on the outside of my windows on the house....it works great...the rain just rolls off and no water spots or streaks...been 2 1/2 months now and water still will not stick to them...

Also use on the tub enclosure and it stays spot free and no water sticking to it...almost dry after a shower

AL

I use #80 and the PC on the fiberglass shower stalls and the jacuzzi tub.

I use Meg's glass cleaner everywhere. Shower glass, mirrors, faucets, etc.

I use NXT on the appliances, washer, dryer, range etc.

Colinite on the sinks and showers (not on the bottom where you stand though), Eagle one soap diluted on the vinyl floors, and Lexol leather conditioner on my new leather chair. And Al thanks for the tip, I'm tired of cleaning the windows on my house. I'll try the AW on them!

I use Wheel Brightener to remove coffee stains from my teeth :ignore

I read Meg's #4 heavy cut cleaner works well to remove hard water stains on glass shower doors
