Optimum Poli-Seal

Ok guys,

I know it's new but who has tried it and how does it compare to other products thats are like it? For example, Klasse AIO (new and pre-VOC), Werkstatt Prime and Strong, etc. Wetness? Durability? Easy of use?
 
I read that it has abrasives in it...which to me puts it in a different category than AIO. AIO is something that can be used every wash (why though?), where as I'm a little more hesitant to use something with abrasives everytime.
 
The Poli-Seal is veary easy to use. It can be used by hand or machine. It goes on easy and wipes off very easy. I have used it with a cyclo and the rotary. Both with orange pads. It dose have a very mild abrasive in it. Like a final polish. When used with the rotary or the cyclo the slickness goes way up. I personaly have not found any thing slicker. I thought the Acrylic Jett was slick 24 hrs after applying but the Optmum is slicker.



I don't know about the durability I have only had my gallon for a week. David said that it should be good for 4 to 6 months. I probably won't know since I use OSP every tiome I wash my personal cars and regular customers cars.



Useing the new Poli-Seal for me is just like all of the Optimum products. Easy to use with excelent results



If you know a detailer who dose one step polishes for car dealers tell them about it.
 
I've really been enjoying Optimum products lately...I currently use optimum polish followed by AIO but may pick some of this up when the polish is too much and aio is not enough.



So does this not need a sealant such as SG?



I wanted to try Werkstatt Prime with their sealant but if this is a true all in one...I'll be picking this up on my next order. Sounds like I could skip a couple steps, use this and go straight to a wax.
 
So if I understand this...



Opti-Seal has mild abrasives, polishing agents and sealant.



Werkstatt Prime:Strong has mild abrasives (?), polishing agents, paint cleaner, and sealant



Does that seem accurate?
 
As Ron noted......excellant product.



It was originally developed for the consumer in mind more than the pro user. David developed it to be used by hand, had some light cleaning properties as well as filling ability to hide light imperfections and left a nice sealant.



After some testing though it needed to be a bit creamier and this tweaking took it to a whole new level. We (Kevin, Ron and myself) found that it excelled when used with a machine. Kevin did testing with it via rotary and found it to be a TRUE one-step product....even when used with an orange pad on light colors, it corrected paint rather than hide the imperfections. The filling properties where pretty much eliminated in the tweaking but added was a very fine polishing ability, as Ron noted very much like that of Final Polish II. I have used it by hand and with the Cyclo and Ron used it today with a rotary and called me about the results, he was very pleased.



Some time ago I had spoken of an upcoming Optimum product that would be geared towards a concours super fine polish, one step finer than Optimum Polish, well this is a part of that product, at least the abrasive portion and it's less abrasive than Optimum Polish.



If you do alot of one-step type details you may want to give this product a go.

Anthony what pads and speeds have you been using? I've been using this product now for about a month with pc and by hand. I really like it so far.

I have not used it with a PC but with my Cyclo I have used it with both the white Cyclo pads and the blue LC pads.



Via rotary 1000 to 1200 rpm's is a very nice working range. I had a chance to spin some on a fender with the new LC blue "button" pad and my rotary and not only liked the results but really liked the new LC button pad. The paint was silver so I could not determine if swirls were an issue.



I hope to try it soon on a black Mercedes or Porsche.....which ever client comes up first.



As for layering....yes it does contain a cleaner but Opti-Seal was not designed for those who wish to layer but rather for those detailers wanting a high performance one-step.

I also tried out the new blue pad as well as the orange and the wool. I think David said it is made by American buffing. So far I've had the best luck with the pc on speed 4. I does work really well by hand too.

How is that a problem? Seriously?



I'd much rather use a product that does its job and looks great with a single application. Besides, as Ron said, you can apply OCW over it if you want.



My take on Opti-Seal after using it a couple weeks is that it does do light correction on par with Vanilla Moose, noticably deepens the color and leaves the paint very slick.
 
I just purchased a gallon and can't wait to use it. It sounds like it will fill in a nice gap in my collection. Also when I get jobs that people are not willing to spend as much rather than lose them I can go this route and be satisfied with my work.

That is exactly where the Opti-Seal fits in :bigups

Can you compare this to Werkstatt Prime? Did you ever use Prime:Strong? Does Opti-Seal have paint cleaning ability...I haven't really read that it does or not.



So in what situations do you use O-S? You can basically use it as a finishing polish and sealant, right? So you save one step there.

I really think this a cost efficient product from what I hear and even though I am cutting out a step because I am getting paid less I will not be half a@@ing it if you know what I mean. I think this is a product that offers a quick fix on maybe a lease return where I find people don't want to spend too much money.
 
David probably has not contacted his web guy. It is only offered in gallons. It should hit all of the Optimum sellers soon if there not afraid to carry gallon products.
