My friend needed my truck for the weekend and I was planning to do his '03 blue M5 so the plan is work on it tonight and tomorrow night...and then enjoy it this weekend. Man, these things SCREAM! Exhaust note is pure heaven.
Anyway, the paint is swirled to hell and you'd never know the dual exhaust tips were chrome. He keeps it clean to the average person but this thing deserves more. My plan tonight is to wash and clay and then do a quick once over with AIO to see what that does. I know it wont touch the swirls but there is etching from bird shat and our wonderful acid rain. I need to drive it to work tomorrow so the plan would be a quick wash tomorrow and then the real work, and where I am looking for opinions.
For swirls I have SSR lineup excluding 2.5 (wish I got 2.5 but didnt know better at the time), #9, SMR and the new DP line of swirl removers. I'm thinking about starting with SSR2 with SFX yellow as it doesnt seem SSR2 with the sfx white does much more than SSR1. I have read that the DP Super Swirl Eliminator is close to 2.5 but havent tried it yet. Thoughts? Could I go from DP's SSE to a glaze? Should I AIO again? UPC?
I dont typically glaze but it will be a Friday night in my garage so I have the time and really want to wow my friend and his father (his father has 6 cars: s500, cl600, SL500, Range Rover, MB 645 and the new Bentley Coupe. I want to land those!). I did a swap for a couple of ounces of RMG and I'm thinking about RMG topped with UPP but I also have FMJ (I havent used any of these yet). Any issue with UPP over RMG? I typically use NXT or Z5/2pro but I want to try some of the stuff that I havent used yet. My wife would like to thank all of you for bringing all these new products to my attention!
Sorry for the long rambling. I really tried to keep it short. Thanks for the direction...
