Opinions on what to use on blue M5

My friend needed my truck for the weekend and I was planning to do his '03 blue M5 so the plan is work on it tonight and tomorrow night...and then enjoy it this weekend. Man, these things SCREAM! Exhaust note is pure heaven.

Anyway, the paint is swirled to hell and you'd never know the dual exhaust tips were chrome. He keeps it clean to the average person but this thing deserves more. My plan tonight is to wash and clay and then do a quick once over with AIO to see what that does. I know it wont touch the swirls but there is etching from bird shat and our wonderful acid rain. I need to drive it to work tomorrow so the plan would be a quick wash tomorrow and then the real work, and where I am looking for opinions.

For swirls I have SSR lineup excluding 2.5 (wish I got 2.5 but didnt know better at the time), #9, SMR and the new DP line of swirl removers. I'm thinking about starting with SSR2 with SFX yellow as it doesnt seem SSR2 with the sfx white does much more than SSR1. I have read that the DP Super Swirl Eliminator is close to 2.5 but havent tried it yet. Thoughts? Could I go from DP's SSE to a glaze? Should I AIO again? UPC?

I dont typically glaze but it will be a Friday night in my garage so I have the time and really want to wow my friend and his father (his father has 6 cars: s500, cl600, SL500, Range Rover, MB 645 and the new Bentley Coupe. I want to land those!). I did a swap for a couple of ounces of RMG and I'm thinking about RMG topped with UPP but I also have FMJ (I havent used any of these yet). Any issue with UPP over RMG? I typically use NXT or Z5/2pro but I want to try some of the stuff that I havent used yet. My wife would like to thank all of you for bringing all these new products to my attention!

Sorry for the long rambling. I really tried to keep it short. Thanks for the direction...

If you have the complete line of DP siwrl eliminators, I would suggest the Super Swirl Elimintaor followed by the Mild Swirl Eliminator to finish up and remove any possible hazing. Instead of a glaze, I would use the DP Final Finishing Polish to try and bring out more shine.

FWIW, I was really impressed by the new DP stuff and look forward to getting a chance to use it again on my personal vehicles.

I'm willing to give that a try. Would UPP bond to the DP polish? I may just try our the the DP sealant while I'm at it and do the entire DP soup to nuts.

I don't see why UPP wouldn't sit well on the DP polishes. I have to admit, I really like the DP sealant as well. It looks as good as UPP and is every bit as slick.

I vote for the FMJ w/o the RMG (just in case), but I am a little biased :bigups
Is it a dark blue?

UPP is really good and ive heard alot of good things about menzerna FMJ as well though ive never used it so im not gonna comment on it.

hmmm.....im not detailing expert but ive also heard good things about the wolfgang deep gloss sealant specially when it comes to applying it to darker cars.

It is navy blue. I just finished my a pass with DP super swirl eliminator. Was pretty impressed with the stuff. I think I was using too much in the beginning. You really need very little for this stuff to go a long way. I've never worked on a BMW'er with a PC before but if sure does seem like a hard clearcoat. Also, M5 rims suck to clean. A2Z worked okay but I think these would need the acid treatment to be perfect again. I broke out everything I had (P21S, A2Z, SG, 0000 steel) and they arent perfect. May look into acid but not sure I am brave enough yet.

I dont have any souveran, so no luck there. PT91, I am dying to try your samples. I am doing an '05 silver E350 next week that I think I will try the UPC/UPP combo on.

For the M5, though, I think I am going to give the car the DP treatment. I have a ton of samples. I started with AIO just to see what it would do and it may a difference. Removed some most of the top level swirls and made the paint noticeable deeper. However, there were too many deeper scratches and it is covered with acid rain spots and it didnt touch them so I went straight to the SSE.

Tomorrow night I plan to make a pass with DP MSE, Final Polish and the DP Sealant. This will be my test run with DP. So far I like. If I can figure out how to post pics I put some up. Thanks for the input guys. I'll get there!
