ONR'd the car 1st time this year

Jeff,

Thanks for posting the great idea of the window washer gloves - is this something that can be Googled ?

Your car looks really nice, and your ONR wash certainly helped it out.

I agree with Barry's assessment of your pictures, its going to be fine, no matter what you do, everything eventually gets some type of mark on it, and that is why Detailers and Detailing were invented ! :)

It is a Neoprene Unger window washing glove. They run large. I got an XL and should have gotten the Large. I suggest getting 1 size smaller than you usually do wear so that are tight.

Nothing like getting bundled up and doing a warm-water ONR wash! It's great fun for guys like us!

As my neighbor said.... "Oh, I get it. For you, detailing is like sex."

I said... "Yup."

There are lots of psychological aspects to over come with ONR. First there's no need to rinse. That's just because ONR cleans differently than a soap and that's why there are no suds. Then there's the wash media staining. This is jus how ONR works. It releases dirt from the paint and at a microscopic level that dirt stains. It is no more harmful than a liquid dye that stains. The larger particles That could scratch are encapsulated and drop to the bottom of the bucket. It should also be noted that the dirt continues to dissolve as it remains in the solution. Drying the wash water off is kinda weird too at first but all you have to do to be safe is look at the solution on the panel. If it looks like dirty water, make another pass... If it looks clear you can go ahead and dry. Just think of it like this: it's only weird because it's not the first way you learned. If you were taught rinseless washing first you'd be asking questions like: why are you wasting so much water, and how do you get around the whole car quickly without waterspots.

Nice gloves :-B I don't think I will ever use ONR. Just seems to strange /:)

Hey Flash,

I'm telling you, try it. Once you get the hang of it, you will wonder why you haven't been doing ONR washes sooner. If you have cold weather, it's the only way to go.

I actually fill my two buckets up inside the house with hot water and do my ONR wash in my garage, so no need for gloves yet!

As far as scratching the paint, seems like it will, but isn't supposed to!

I just saw a very similar glove at WalMart in the fishing section of the store. They are neoprene fish gripping gloves, I had them in my hands but put them back. I do intend on getting a pair after I do my next detailing job. Not sure when that is going to be though.

Yes,I had the same feeling using ONR the first time. But I have posted a couple of pic's on AG that show's NO new induced swirls/scratches from using ONR.
For the winter month's and the salt that accumulates on the vehicles,I like to use (2) Opti-Mitt's for my cleaning.Work's Well:thumbup:
